Has Bux got it all wrong

Serious question.

I read a blog by one of our members today. Nothing wrong in that but it set a train of thought in motion and it’s now reached the point where I’m thinking I might have all of this WA thing wrong.

Tell me if you think I’m wrong to think I’m wrong or even if you agree that I am wrong. Does that make sense.

I came to WA in search of a website that I could control myself. At the time (two years ago) I had just wasted 6 months waiting for a so called web designer to make me a website to do the things that I wanted. Eventually we decided to go in different directions, whether it was my expectations or her inability but it never worked. There were promises of all this super training that never materialised, I think it was just bluff. For some reason she couldn’t spell the website name correctly so I ended up with different names in use for Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Even the account email address for the web host had been given to them incorrectly. Obviously I refused to pay a single penny.

I just pulled the plug on the lot and decided to start again, but it took weeks of effort to correct the incorrect names. At which point I decided I could do a better job myself. Hence WA.

I wanted a simple way of creating my own website to promote my YouTube site and this is what I now have. With well over a hundred training videos, my LearnElectrics channel is going really, really well. The website has the same name; and all the articles on the website point the user to the YT channel. Which is what I wanted. But is that right.

Now I’m thinking that I should be doing more with WA. Should I be writing blogs instead or as well as. Should I start a new website and blog on that. Is that the secret to the method that WA is pushing. What I saw today on the blog was a real eye-opener. And then there was a mail shot from Kyle that said if I enrolled 300 new members to WA I would get a free trip to the moon (and back). I’ve not even thought about that route, so should I be doing that. Again, I don’t have a clue.

So is anyone else doing what I am doing, concentrating on YouTube and using the website to point at YT.

Or should I concentrate less on the YT training videos and be blogging away to my heart’s content. When people say write a blog a day, I now understand. Blogs are nothing like videos I know. My training videos are very technical and can take 4 days to put together. I suppose a blog could be created in an hour or two.

Help me please. I just need some opinions on what to do for the future. Stay as I am or start to incorporate some written blogs onto the website or even a new website. I’m really glad I saw the other members blog, it really stirred things up in my mind but now I need make decisions.

A serious plea for opinions and thanks to all of you

Every response is a great help and truly appreciated. Your opinion might be the one that helps me to make my mind up. Wasn't that a song by Buck's Fizz. My sister told me.

I was thinking that if you are doing well currently, you could keep doing this, but if there is room for improvement, why not start blogging? You are a great writer and it might be fun for you (albeit, very difficult) to start a blog. I say difficult because it is for me, you might be different. You mentioned 1 - 2 hours for a blog. I am way slower than that. I take my time, but I want to do it well and sometimes working quickly and effectively, don't go together for me.
Whatever you do, you will find new ways to improve upon what you are currently doing. If I stop improving, it's confirmed that I am dead! lol

Take care and best wishes to you!
Erlene

If I stop improving, it's confirmed that I am dead!
I like that and you are exactly right Erlene.
Many business leaders have said that the day they stand still is the day they start going backwards.
So very true and thanks for the reminder.
I did a blog a while back on a great book.
Who moved my cheese.
It echos your thoughts.
Thanks

If your YouTube channel is doing well, don't stop with it. However, you can also blog about your training and promote products on your site as well.
You can also start another site in the MMO niche to promote WA.
It is really just up to you and what you want and have time to do.
I wouldn't try doing it all at once, though.

That is good advice Siobhan. One step at a time. I need to plan this. Thanks for the words.

You're welcome!

I joined WA because I needed to build a website fit for Affiliate Marketing . As I go through the training i realise that this is a massive long term commitment .To get any business via the web will take a very long time .But it provides credibility helps open doors . But depending on what you do 2/3 well executed blogs a week is no mean feat .

That was one way I was thinking of going, or maybe a second YT channel. I don't really want to blend two techy subjects into one channel.
Thanks
Bux

How difficult is it to build a YT presentation? Doe sit have to be your product your selling ?

YT can be on anything you want - anything. YT don't judge within the limits of fair, legal, honest.
Whatever you put together , get it into MP4 format to upload.
In fact, there are dozens of YT videos on how to start a YT channel.
Search for that ... How do I start a YouTube Channel.
I bet there are more than 50 videos to help you.

I say that if you are seeing success in what you are doing don’t change it. You can always create blog posts on your website that don’t point directly to a video but may review a product or service that fits your niche that you use or even don’t. The time it takes to do a blog post varies.

There is ALOT of money to be made with YouTube and if doing videos is your thing, don’t stop doing it or change directions in the entirety. (I am trying to build my confidence to get in front of a camera.)

As far as the MMO niche, that is up to you. This is my niche currently, I don’t have anything else yet as My site is just starting. If you are at that stage where your site is established and you have time to focus on another site as well then go for it, if that is something that interests you.

WA gives us all the tools to choose what works best for us and our online business.

Good info Lisa. No intention of stopping YT. Its very profitable.
Just considering extra options.
Bux

Oh yes for sure. I didn’t think you would stop, YouTube is far to profitable for that and I can tell it is a passion of yours.

I definitely say you can expand your website or start a new one or both! 😁 I know you’ll figure it out.

Yes Lisa.
I'm moving towards a second YT channel and 2nd website linked to it. Having read all the replies I think that is the way for me.
It will still be a techy channel, but something different.
Thanks
Dave

Nice! I am sure you will do great! As a I build up more content I eventually want to do some videos. The biggest hurtle for me when it comes to that is I like being in front of the camera, I end up going blank. I am sure through some trial videos I can build my confidence. 🤪

It is possible to do several "seemingly" different things all at the same time (or at least sequentially) and interconnect them all to each other.

For example - my primary products are Specialized Information Products (SIP's) which include courses, eBooks, books, and other publications - and of them all my main revenue generator is Online Courses.

So I use ALL of my content as much as I can to drive traffic to my Courses. Sometimes that is direct as in a link and or specifically mentioning it. In other cases, it is more audience and trust-building where people keep seeing my posts and my name - some click on the profile and from there the courses and it results in more and more course sales.

Courses can be used to sell training manuals or books, and books and eBooks can be used to sell courses.

Interestingly enough most of my students buy more than one of my courses - and several buy them ALL. That I love!

Keep in mind you can also have more than ONE YouTube channel - if you wish and if you feel it is beneficial - that way you can keep your niches separated (but still cross promote them too!).

Best regards,

L.D. Sewell

Interesting LD. Some excellent points here and they add fuel to some thoughts I already have.
Thanks
