The Importance Of Having a Mentor.

Getting a mentor is one of the most important things to consider when deciding to go it alone and start any kind of business. I'm sure there are lots of people who have succeeded on there own, but I'm also confident that most people would agree, that the journey would have been easier if they had a mentor to guide them through those first months, even years of there climb to the top. And I would like to share with you the importance of having a mentor based on a friend of mine.

My friend worked as a fireman (firefighter) for many years and was very successful, and in his spare time he was also a drummer in a band and it was a member of this band that quite literally changed his life.

You see, the lead singer of the band was made redundant, but this loss of income seemed to have no impact on his life. In fact it was quite the opposite. He built an extension to his home, bought nice cars and seemed to go on holiday whenever he wanted to. Now the reason he was able to flourish following the result of his redundancy, was because he had made the decision not to return to the daily 9 – 5 grind he had hated and he had decided to look for something better. And he found it. What he had discovered was internet marketing.

Seeing how he was living, my friend enquired as to how he was able to afford this lifestyle with no visible source of income, he clearly wasn't working but was living a better life than most people in good steady jobs. The lead singer of the band explained to my friend that he had found himself a mentor who had shown him how to create a passive income online selling information products, and it was based on this knowledge that my friend decided to write a career guide on How To Become a Firefighter, which was something he new a great deal about. The guide sold well. You see my friend had now found his mentor, and it was with the help and guidance of his mentor that he proceeded to build a successful online business selling career guides, a business that is still going strong today. Now the big questions are, would my friend of achieved this success on his own if he had not met his mentor? He has certainly got ability and a great work ethic to achieve what he has, but would he have know what to do with with this skill set if he had he not met his mentor?

The moral of this post is that we all have it within us to create something better and sometimes we all need a helping hand to guide us on our way. You could say that Kyle and Carson are our mentors but so is each and every member here at WA. So with that in mind, we have not just one mentor but many and we must all take great advantage of that to achieve our goals.

Best of luck with your journey.

Hi Danmoz

Great post. Thank you for sharing. )

Delroy

Hi dear. To keep you going, I've prepared a Dose of Encouragement specially for you and for all my other loved ones. Here it is: Hope you will appreciate it.
Have a nice day.
Best Regards

Books are my passion, (that's another niche for further down the line), I've read YWBR Bob Proctor, and TAGR Napoleon Hill, though I do struggle with his, that said I'm now doing my best to study it, so when I read a paragraph if I don't quite understand it, I go back and read it again.
I was lucky enough to pick up a Hardback copy in Borders NYC a few years ago and that in itself resonates with how Proctor started, his copy is more worn than mine lol.

If anyone is interested in starting a Mastermind around this topic, lets talk

I love reading Napoleon Hill and he stressed mentors.
good blog.
Regards Rall

Thank you and thanks for the follow

Having a mentor is exactly why I love WA so much. I feel like I am surrounded by hundreds of them.
Great post!

I agree with Jude
The members here are like an unlimited mentor.

This is a great community of like-minded people, which is almost like having a whole gang of mentors! :)

Thank you very much for your response and the follow.

This post is spot on. I also agree with Dave, it is like a mastermind group here (research Napoleon Hill mastermind group to find out more). BUT, I would still encourage finding someone that you can relate to that is already successful that will be your one-on-one mentor. In other endeavors it has always proved invaluable in my life.

Bit like having a mastermind group, something I'm going to create on LinkedIn
