How often should you post a new blog on your site? what does google prefer?
A few months ago I read an article from a successful blogger and in the comments was a discussion about the exact same question.
This successful blogger mentioned that it is important to have your foundation posts of 500 words. If that is set than longer posts of a 1000 words every week is all good.
If you can get 1 post of 1000 words out every week and 1 shorter post out, then it will work out fine.
Get 2 or more long posts out per week, with images and video, and your rule the world.
If you can do it everyday, then awesomeness to you.
There is no rule from google.
Just a thought.
I think just weekly is what they mean by consistency. I worry too many post to quickly would be too much for the reader??
Using google analytics, I can see the readers on my page dont usually leave the topic they originally searched for. For instance if i made a article about boxing gloves, they will only look at the pages relating to gloves before leaving. I think its important to make as many post you can with out sacrificing quality because this will pull in more readers from different specific google searches.
Consistency not frequency is the key but in reality if you can be consistent and frequent then that is better.
No specific number, once or twice a week is fine but as long as its regular, quality content that you keep posting consistently google is fine. Some do one or two or even more a day, some do one a week. just make it quality and do it consistently.

Has anyone tested theory of consistency in posting with regards to Google?
Posting for some would help them to keep a harmonious rhythm going in their work habits and ensure both that their site health remains good and regular visitors have something new to read. These are just a couple reasons I've read here that once or twice weekly seem to be the norm.
I admit I post when I feel like it and get ranked usually in a place I feel is fair.
You will eventually march to the drum that's right for you. All comments have value and thank you for the question.
