UN International Day of Women Judges
Last Update: Mar 10, 2023
Image: This struck me for one particular reason. Why the blindfold?
To achieve justice, we need more women in justice!
That is the 2023 UN headline title on their website, in recognition that the 10 March, 2023 is the UN's International Day of Women judges.
Despite women's increasing involvement in public life, their representation in decision-making positions, particularly in senior judicial leadership roles, remains significantly low.
This underrepresentation in the judiciary limits the courts' ability to represent the people they serve, address their concerns, and make fair decisions.
By advocating for more women judges in the judiciary can enhance the courts' legitimacy and send a powerful message that justice is accessible to all.
Let's celebrate this special day, encouraging equal representation of women in the judiciary, helping to raise awareness for this cause and most of all, celebrate the wonderful achievements made, and being made to advance this important service in the world.
Happy United Nations International Day of Women Judges!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

thank you my friend. Hope you have a great Friatsu (I think I have spelled that right?). 🙏🚴♂️😊
Frisatsu--you left the "S" out, but that could also be a type! It essentially means "weekend"!

Hi, Dale
We need more women in practically everything. Veterinary medicine is very well represented. When my niece graduated from vet school at Tufts University several years ago, greater than 90% of the class was female.
The significance of the blindfold is because "lady justice is blind," meaning impartial as she weighs the evidence on the scales. 😎
Rock On!
