What does Christmas mean to you?
To some, Christmas is a pagan festival and they would have nothing to do with it.They see it as a plague.
To others, it’s one big yearly celebration akin to Thanksgiving with family, friends and food. It’s a time to get together with family and friends, enjoy each other's company over meals of mouthwatering meat, rice, mashed potatoes and other delicacies. They see it as time to party and indulge in all kinds of excesses.

Others take it as an opportunity to get high on booze and drugs, and if you allow them they will try to,”get higher than the Empire state building,’” as Alicia Keys put it in her song.

Another set of people see Christmas as a time to take a much needed vacation and a break from the usual hustle and bustle of every day life.A time to recalibrate and get ready for the New Year.
Some spend this period going through the motions and dealing with some trauma in their lives. They can not wait for the celebration to be over.
Some single people see the long drawn out Christmas holidays as some type of conspiracy by someone up there to make the lives of single people miserable, depressed and lonely..They can not wait for the Christmas hols to be over.
To some, Christmas has become a synonym for the gifts and presents they will be giving and receiving..To them Christmas is time to shop until they drop..
Any wonder, a young boy when asked what Christmas is all about, said it it’s all about giving and receiving of gifts.
But to some of us, Christmas is about the birth of a young child in swaddling cloths in a manger in Bethlehem. As frail as he looked, he took on the burden of the sins of the world and brought it salvation instead. He is the true reason for the season.
Wherever you may be standing on this wide spectrum of perspectives on Christmas, I wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New year in advance
