No Television For A Month And It Feels Great!

I got rid of my TV package last month as the bill was raised again. It's been a month since I watched TV and I really don't miss it. I find I can live quite easily without the bum trips that the news lays on us every day and not to mention the "you could be as risk" drug commercials that are on every 2 minutes! I'm going to have to turn it back on for baseball season in April. But it's nice to know I can get by fine without TV with no trouble at all. It's great to work the the WA lessons instead and actually get somewhere!

I'm with you. So much on TV are mindless programs, and yes the news, well who needs that, although my son is an evening news producer and I do like to watch his program for what he has pulled together. "-)

I just have the internet too, now and haven't missed TV for ages. SO glad I let one more silly bill go when we barely watched it anyway. Love that you feel you are getting somewhere by becoming engrossed in the WA lessons. Me TOO!

We did the same thing. I just kept internet and got rid of TV and phone (we have cell phones anyway). We don't miss it at all and the quality of our lives has increased while we save money. You can't beat that.

And just to rant a bit, Europe has such low prices for internet, cell, tv, home phone. I just don't get why we in the US are getting ripped off so bad. I know our infrastructure is in horrible condition but the providers profits are sky high! I think it will change once the large mass of reitirees on fixed incomes hit the market.

I just cut out a lot of the mindless stuff, like the news (because it's all bad!) TV can be a real narcotic. Mostly, I just watched baseball. It's pretty slow paced so I can do other things while watching a game. I like youtube though, lots of good things to watch and no drug commercials!

No TV - Great for you! You have realized already the value of time and I can see you using the extra time to max your success in getting things done.

I seriously haven't had a TV for a few years now; news I catch off the internet or newspapers, etc......currently on a 'job' so not home until early evening; after dinner, mail, online stuff.....don't really miss it....so much has been made available online now, it is sufficient for what I need....

Congrats! I do have a TV for a Hallmark movie on the weekend. My TV will last forever because it's hardly used. It's probably older than some of the people online here. Just don't TOUCH my computer!!!!

lol....sooooo right.....don't touch the computer.....hahahaha

Congrats good! Nice post

Congratulations! Except few programs, watching TV is a waste of time. I do not have TV over 10 years. I miss just for Oscars Awards show. However, I am happy as it is. Cheers:)

Well done David! I haven't had a tele for years. I do watch the occasional programme via catch up on my pc but never watch the news or commercials. :)

Great post
Ken
