Good User Experience

I got to thinking about how often I need to close tabs on my browser or to stop a search because of all the websites with horrific user experience. Mostly these are big name sites and you would think that they could pay somebody so their sites would be optimized.

So why is it then that these websites have the worst User experience and people still go to them? I make a mental note about what pages to not revisit and if I see any kind of relationship from a post or video I avoid it.

I really can't wrap my mind on this matter, if these sites are making so much money is user experience over rated. I don't even understand the point of having so many ads if they never load. Or why they are still even on the sites knowing that people use ad blockers.

What really annoys me the most are automatic videos which lure me to a site. When I get there I have to endure a ad and then trying to scroll down to see the video more pop ups and more problems.

By the time all this has happened I am usually in a far different mood and stop caring why I came there in the first place. If I have to wait 30 secs or more and find a 5 second clip, is that even worth the effort?

Now I know the websites we have on WA are not as bad(I hope) as some of the ones on the web. But it comes to my mind how these big sites can get away with it and why people still go to them.

I am also aware that different devices can handle this mess differently but it makes me wonder who is testing these sites out and thinks most of the world has the top of the line devices to even view them.

I guess my point is for everyone to remember this while you're placing those ridiculous ads all over the site. Do you really think I am going to stick around and click on an ad if I can't even get to the purpose of my visit?

Even worse I am probably gonna make a note either in my head or on my notepad so I can avoid any future headaches.
