Only 6% Of Lottery Winners Are Happier After The Sudden Windfall

The answer of why is profound. It is because they were not invested in the effort so they aren't appreciative of the harvest.

This is what will make you happier and a better person when your WA ship comes in. You worked hard for the reward, so you will cherish it and appreciate it more.

You won't hoard it, or blow it like those that didn't earn it. You will be a more generous person. Taking what you need, and giving generously to those that you want to help.

I just heard that on Motivational Legends audio book. It is so true. I have lived it on a smaller scale as the recipient and the giver.

Close your eyes for 60 seconds and think about what it will be like when you start reaping what you sow here at WA. Will it change your life? Will you be able to help others?

That is the true reward for hard work.

UPDATE: It seems the 6% has changed since the taping of the Motivational Legends audiobook I heard it on. The number is around 50% now, out of those that would agree to be interviewed.

So, those that didn't accept the interview were probably not happy campers reducing those numbers.

So true. I know a guy whose uncle won a lottery in Switzerland.

Not only was he not happier for winning, but I was told a detailed story about how the windfall set off a series of unfortunate events which landed him in prison.

My sister in law is a financial advisor and has similarly worrying stories about lottery winners who seek out her advice and then still do stupid things with their money. Such clients often not only lack financial literacy, they also often have very compulsive behaviours (poor impulse control in psych speak). It’s disheartening.

Hopefully the slow build of business here helps to instill more strategic, and less compulsive habits in business owners... from week to week.

Dang Ivy...you write very well. I can tell just from this reply. Has a rhythmic flow. I bet your site(s) are amazing.

So true, humans are good at challenges, we need to remember even small successes, that encourages us to keep on going to the next success.
Personally I need that carrot lol
Good post.
Cheers Jae ☺

I don't know if winning the lotto would make me a happier person, but I would certainly feel a little less stressed-out if I could pay some of the bills that I have been neglecting.

So this guy kept praying to God every week that he would win the lottery. God never answered his prayers.

Every night before the lottery numbers were chosen he would get down on his knees and pray and pray and pray.

He still didn't win.

Finally he stood up and screamed at heaven, "I have prayed to you for years to let me win the lottery and you never made it happen and didn't even answer any of my prayers."

All of the sudden God answered in a sarcastic tone in a booming voice from Heaven. "You Have To Buy A Ticket First."

Ok...I am obviously not a comedian. LOL

Good post....I'll buy into it 100%

BTW: The Motivational Legends audiobook is brilliant, and so credible because we know they walked the walk.

It is, I can't believe I just now found it. Everyone destined for financial freedom should listen/read it eventually.

Oh yeah.
Closing eyes and thinking of it for 60 seconds has made all the difference.

Yes Sir!

:)

The famous Beetles sang -"MONEY CANT BUY ME, LOVE!

I agree with them wholeheartedly and your post was great

My Aunt was a joker and would come out with these one-liners

'I have been poor and I am unhappy'

Now ! 'I want to be rich and unhappy'

Personally, there is a lot I could do with money that would benefit others

Gotta love her. There is a country song out that says
I know Everyone Says Money Can't Buy Everything,
Well, Maybe So
But It Can Buy Me A Boat!

I laugh ever time I hear it.
