Wow I didn't know Google Docs could do this!
So I recently started using Google Docs for writing blog posts. Both for Wealthy Affiliate and my own upcoming blog (more on this in a future blog). But today I noticed something new. Maybe I am the last person on earth to know, but it totally blew me away.
Voice Typing!
Actually this whole blog has been written by using voice typing. And it worked surprisingly well for me. I just had to get used to specific commands such as saying “delete” when I wanted to delete the last word typed (In the beginning this was a lot :-)) But now words as “period” and “new line” is part of my new office lingo. Only drawback is that my better half is starting to look strange at me when sitting in my office talking to my computer.
This feature is however a real game changer for me, as I work most effective when I can just speak my thoughts instead of thinking about how to write them down.
What about you folks? Did you know that google docs had this feature? (activate it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+S). And if so, what do you think about it. Do you use it?
Now Google Docs - “Go make coffee”.. Darn they haven't implemented that yet :-)

I've tried it, but I think it gave too much work to correct it. But for short messages is it ok for me to use Voice over

I was surprised how well it recognized my voice and spelled correctly (as we aboth Danish :-). But I guess that's going to differentiate between people
I just felt that there was a lot to correct for afterwards and now that I'm used to write and things are going fine so I continue it
Jude, I guess there is a suggestion box somewhere :-) By the way I had to look up Prosecco, as I didnt know what it was.. Its just white wine right?
Cool I thought Italy's Champagne was spumante.. But maybe thats the same. Got to try it anyhow one day..
Hi Chris, I use Google Docs and saw that it could do that but haven't tried it yet. My wife already looks at me funny. I am not sure how she would take this lol. Thanks for sharing.

hiya Chris, yes just discovered it myself but not had much luck with it yet, think it will be worth persevering with though. Watching Jay's training last night and discovered that you can research a word inside docs too, which is going to be very useful, have you used it yet?

Hey Tracy.. Just saw the feature.. This is totally cool.. Mark a sentence and pres Ctrl+Alt+Shift+I (I am PC user, sorry apple fans). Then you will be able to insert links to research of that topic.. I love Google now and think I have to cancel my Office 365 next time its up for renewal :-)

I didnt know it was incorporated in Google Docs, but I found out it was in the control panel on my windows 8 just a month ago ironically. I got frustrated at it because I found it was not as accurate as I wanted it to be. How has it been for you with Google Docs? Would you also say you complete work faster?
Its working really good for me and that was actually a surprise. I create blogs faster now and find it easy to just speak from my heart instead of thinking about what to write.
