Keeping Your Spirits Up: Navigating the Initial Struggles of Building Your Online Business
Hey everyone!!! How are you today? I wanted to talk to you about something that's been runing trough my head all week and I think can benefit more than one of us here: How do you keep your spirits ups one the initial enery boost has decreased and you still have to go through a few stuff before you start seeing results.
I have resently discovered that the journey of building an online business is an exciting and ambitious pursuit, filled with dreams of financial independence and a flexible lifestyle.
I cannot begin to discribe how absolutelity petrified I was about this not working because, let's face it, I don't have the best track record with keeping up with my projects when they don't start showing results fast.
As a single mom, I've taken a huge step to embark on this path to create a better future for myself and my children. However, it's not always smooth sailing, and definetely not a path without challenges and setbacks that test my resolve.
In the early stages, it's common to put in a lot of effort without seeing immediate progress. It's during these moments that keeping your spirits up becomes crucial.
This blog post aims to offer guidance and encouragement to single moms who are building their online businesses and haven't witnessed significant progress yet. We'll explore strategies and mindset shifts to help you stay positive, motivated, and focused on achieving your goals.
Acknowledge the Journey:
Building an online business is a journey, not a destination. It's essential to embrace the learning process and appreciate every small win along the way. Understand that progress doesn't always happen overnight, and each step you take is valuable. Whether it's learning a new skill, creating your website, or making your first sale, celebrate these achievements and use them as fuel to keep moving forward.
Set Realistic Expectations:
In the age of social media and instant gratification, it's easy to compare yourself to others who seem to have achieved rapid success. However, remember that every entrepreneur's journey is unique, and success takes time and effort. Set realistic expectations for yourself and your business. Avoid falling into the trap of measuring your progress against others' benchmarks and instead focus on your growth and improvements.
Be Active in your Supportive Communities:
The entrepreneurial journey can sometimes feel isolating, especially for single moms juggling multiple responsibilities and never having any time to themselves. Seek out supportive communities of like-minded individuals who understand your struggles and aspirations.
Online forums, social media groups, and networking events are excellent places to connect with fellow single moms and entrepreneurs. Engaging with others can provide valuable insights, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.
Practice Self-Compassion:
Building an online business is a significant undertaking that requires dedication and hard work. Be kind to yourself and avoid self-criticism when things don't go as planned.
Understand that setbacks are a natural part of the process. Instead of dwelling on failures, view them as learning opportunities that contribute to your growth as an entrepreneur. Practice self-compassion, and remember that you're doing the best you can under challenging circumstances.
Break Tasks into Manageable Steps:
This is one of my favorite advises of all times and I practice it almost every day for years but now it comes natural.
Feeling overwhelmed by the magnitude of building an online business is common, especially when balancing it with other responsibilities. To avoid burnout, break down your tasks into manageable steps.
Prioritize activities based on their impact on your business, and set achievable goals and milestones. Celebrate each step of progress, no matter how small, as it brings you closer to your ultimate vision.
Incorporate Moments of Joy:
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is vital for your well-being and productivity. Most people already have a full plate, so it's crucial to find time for yourself and moments of joy.
Take regular breaks to relax, recharge, and engage in activities that bring happiness and reduce stress. By nurturing your well-being, you'll be better equipped to handle the challenges that come your way.
Seek Inspiration:
When faced with adversity and slow progress, seeking inspiration from others can be immensely helpful. Follow the stories of successful entrepreneurs who have overcome obstacles and achieved their goals (WA is perfect to do this). Learn from their experiences and draw motivation from their journeys.
Additionally, immerse yourself in motivational books, podcasts, or videos to keep your spirits high and your focus sharp.
Analyze and Adjust:
As you navigate the early stages of your online business, it's essential to stay adaptable and open to change. Continuously evaluate your strategies and approaches to identify areas for improvement. Analyze the data, listen to customer feedback, and make necessary adjustments to your business model. Remember that flexibility and a willingness to evolve are crucial components of long-term success.
Celebrate Progress, No Matter How Small:
In the pursuit of building an online business, it's easy to get caught up in the long-term vision and overlook the progress you've made. Take time to acknowledge your efforts and perseverance. Celebrate even the smallest milestones and accomplishments, as they signify growth and movement towards your ultimate goals. Celebrating progress boosts your confidence and motivation to keep going, even during challenging times.
Seek inspiration from successful entrepreneurs and stay open to adapting your strategies. Most importantly, celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and remember that every step you take is an investment in your future. Keep your spirits up, stay motivated, and maintain a positive outlook as you continue to build the stepping stones of your online business. With perseverance and determination, success is within reach.
Wish you all the best

Thanks Jeff!!! I know that's why I shared the things I've learned to stay motivated.... maybe it can help someone here.
I agree 100%. If you just look at the end goal, you miss the growth that you made to get there. Like seeing my website grow an audience daily, that is so exciting. I just keep focusing on putting on good content and seeing where it takes me.
Great post Coni.

Coni,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Even though I have never been a mother. I can't relate to that but I can relate to being a widow and being a senior in an assisted living. It hasn't been an easy journey here because of health issues but it doesn't stop me from writing as I found my passion in that. That's for the inspiration here it's helpful thank you!
