Okay, this is mostly directed towards people that have relatively new sites but not brand new, though this could be a good reminder to some of you wonderful veterans as well.

Go Back and REALLY Fix Your Early Posts/Pages

It is amazing how fast time goes by and how wrapped up a person can get in all of the ideas for new content construction.

I still have a TON of stuff to go back and fix but I have spent a big chunk of time today doing revisions.

One of the biggest things I noticed was that there is a ton of opportunity to place internal links to my more recent pages & posts.

Whenever I am writing new content I try to think about what other pages and/or posts reference the subject I am on, and I link the new content accordingly. There were still many pages that had content already written, just sitting there, BEGGING to be linked!

Then there were also plenty (<== understatement of the century) of areas that could use some content revision (<== never mind about before, this is the understatement of the century).

I wouldn't necessarily say I wasn't a good writer at that point, I think I was probably just learning so much at once that it was hard to focus on what I needed to, when I needed to. Like I just didn't have a feel for the process yet or maybe didn't quite understand why certain things should or shouldn't be done. For example, throwing H1 & H2 tags all over a page or putting giant pictures right at the top of the page with no headers.

I'm absolutely not saying I have the best understanding now, but I can see clear as day that I have come a loooooooonnnnngggg way from where I began about 6 weeks ago. I still have a long way to go and I still have a lot of old stuff to fix up to meet the current level of standards I hold myself to.

Here is a really early post that I haven't revised at all.

Great differences between the two pages. Thank you for sharing.

Good point! I looked at the difference between your 2 pages, and it's huge! Your newer page looks very professional in comparison. Good post.

That is strange. It has been working just fine for me all day and FB & Twitter allowed the link but G+ just wouldn't load the link and let me post. It seems others have been able to view it though.. I'll try and post again on g+ and see what happens.

Thank you, that is a very useful little piece of info for me.

Good point made here. It is all about learning. There is so much to learn but it's the best place to be.

Hey, I completely get this post. I also feel like I am learning so much it's hard to focus and only do so much at once. I feel like I have so much to do and it's hard to figure out what is most essential. I guess it's just a part of the process. I figure it will all come to us in time. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too.

Hey there friends!

I appreciate the comments, thank you.
I'm always happy if my little rants and ramblings in these posts are of some value to... well, anyone! Whether value is measured motivationally or helps someone with their site somehow, it's all good!

Thanks to everyone for reading and all the likes as well,
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Sounds like you are improving by leaps and bounds, especially if you yourself realize the difference about you from six weeks ago! Keep up the productive work!
