Aluminum Toxicity

I am happy I grew up with cast iron cooking utensils; The inevitable exposure to aluminum and it's danger to human health was an alarming discovery.

The debate is still going on as to its link to Alzheimers and a host of other diseases, but as the saying goes-"There is no smoke without fire"

The good news is we can avoid some of the exposure by our choice of cooking utensils; I have just completed some research for one of my websites; but every one should do a little research on the topic, if they care about their health.

Glass/Pyrex may be the choice of the future, if we can improve the equipment, or glass for stove top cooking, right now glass favors grilling, roasting, baking and cooking in ovens.

Are you still using aluminum pots and pans?

Not me! I look for the teflon-free glass pots and pans in thrift stores...
I have a close relative who is extremely allergic to aluminum. And now it's in vaccines!

Vaccines are a cause for concern and new research; an issue at hand is the outbreak of measles in the USA; is that linked to the fear of vaccines?

I switched to glass & stainless steel a long time ago. Thanks for sharing.

Great decision.

No. I use cast iron skillets and only stainless steel pots and pans and baking equipment.

No aluminum here, only cast iron and glass.

Right on.

cooking, so I stopped using it. I have stainless steel pots, but we need to investigate as you suggest if one cares about one's health. After all, health is wealth.

None of the old stuff- made planters out of them long ago.

Good reminder for those of us who are hanging on to the old.

Great info Courtney thanks for sharing.

Hi Courtney,

No aluminium for me. At present time stainless steel

What are your views about glass?

I have baked with glass before and didn't find any problems. Because you brought this to my attention I did some research and found this link https://pitchengine.com/pitches/2c68f22d-4b26-4083-b0dd-d7d5c7e35c30

Thank you Brad for sharing the link. will take a look.

Thank you again Brad, I just read the article, and it would appear I was right, the future is in glass, Research on the weaknesses can be very profitable; answers to the issues of cooling, stove top cooking,, breakages, definitely no lead and we might find the right answers. Maybe we won't need stove tops any more,
.What a boost to building a better world that would be?.

Have you ever come across glass cookware for the stove top?

i have for low heat, but if it can be done with ceramics, it can be done with glass, we just need the research; someone alerted me of new production of ceramic cookware but it is expensive, have not verified it yet; but I know it can be done.

Thanks Courtney,

PS
I am now taking on the art of carving gemstone into shapes. I am starting on the low quality stones to work out and get a feel for all the Dremel accessories I have, about 100 of them -

Don't take any tin nickels, Courtney!

When will there be intervention in the manufacturing of unhealthy cooking utensils; Or wide spread global education?

Good post. I am not sure if I am using it or not. I really have paid much attention. But I am going to look. I know there are a lot of things we use that is no goo for us. Thank you. Be Blessed

I am encouraging others to join me in fighting for mandatory health education in all school; People are living longer today, we need to live longer and healthier lives. We might see lower taxes and a reduction in the cost of healthcare.
