Is there anyway you can transfer a post to page or vice versa?

You can keep the same permalink so you don't have to create a redirect by deleting the post (after you copy and paste) and then EMPTY THE TRASH. If you don't empty the trash WordPress won't let you use the same URL (permalink). ~Marion

I was thinking that was what I was gonna have to do but I needed someone with more knowledge on this subject to clarify it in case there was a shortcut around this. Appreciate the confirmation and the time. Here comes the fun now of copy/paste, copy/paste the same ol', same ol' but it lets me know to make sure next time which one I want for the content on it next time before I get too far ahead of myself, don't it? Lol

Posts and pages are two different things and cannot be transferred.

What you need to do is create a new page and then cut and paste the content from your post to the page.

SAve your old post with no content. and create a permanent 301 redirect from your old post to the new page.

This way if anyone has linked to your post or it has been indexed people will get sent to your page. And not get a 401 cannot find page error, you want to avoid those.

Hi, I too would like to move some blog content to a menu page, but don't know how to create a 301 redirect. Also, do I need to copy and paste the permalink? I am pretty new to all of this and wish i would have posted my initial content onto the pages instead of creating a blog post as it is basically descriptive information for people who come to my website, but I don't want to mess with the rankings by doing something wrong :/
