Feeling a little overwhelmed.
I guess I just wanted to write briefly about the way I'm feeling. Yes, I do feel a little overwhelmed. The last couple of months have been pretty busy with my youngest daughter graduating from High School and all that goes along with that; sports meets, award banquets, graduation and parties, college visits, her moving and getting a new job, my husband changing jobs, trying to do my business and also my website. It was a lot!
And because of the changes I have neglected my website some and therefore, lost my rank that really wasn't so good to begin with anyway, it was at 930 and now it's 1350. What a bummer! lol
This week starts the County Fairs and I will be working at those for my business. Oh shoot! Will I ever get caught up? I hope so!
Someone told me recently that if I publish just one post or page each week, on the same day, doesn't matter the time of day, I will start to rank well with Google. Just be consistent. That I can do! I should do more but I won't be able to right now.
Does anyone else feel overwhelmed or behind like me?

You're not alone Cindy, been there. I would heed Robert's advice to let "your personal life come first, your website second, and your WA rank a distant last place".
Also you don't have to give any reasons why you're not doing any better with the WA enterprise etc. etc..... It's after all your own business.
God bless you with peace and joy in your family and all that you do.....
Shirley
Thanks Shirley! Yes, Robert had great advice! He was the person that help me feel better about how to publish posts and pages. Thanks for your advice too! God bless you also!
Yes, it happens and here still beginning. I am beginner and few times was thinking what to do first. But do not worry, you will be fine. Whole community lift you up when you needed. Just do what you need to do, follow steps here, post blogs consistently. I wish you best here, good luck:)
Hi camjwood, I know how challenging it can be to juggle everything myself! Oh, and I love county fairs by the way so what fun job you have! What do you do at the fairs? I don't think anyone could be sad at a fair!
How far are you on your website? I have created checklists to help you get through things faster perhaps that would be helpful to you! Just do a little every day and you will get there!
Hi Dwanna, Thanks for your response! I am a Sales Leader with Avon and the Fairs are in full swing. I don't mind working them but they are very long days (12pm - 10pm, 5 days in a row) when you have to work them yourself. This past week was the best fair I have done in a long time. I received many leads and customers and sold lots of product. It was well worth the time I put in.
If you would like to take a look at my website it is: mybeautifulbeautybusiness.com I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment on the site. I do need some engagement. Thanks! Cindy
How do I find your checklist?
Okay, cmjwood, I will take a look at your site and leave a comment! Yes, it does sound like very long days! I'm glad it was worth your time. Our New Mexico fair has gone down hill with regard to vendors because they overcharge them and treat them badly. It's discouraging because we use to have some really cool vendors! Oh, don't forget to go to the comment section in siterubix and request comments! Give two to get one credit! It's a great tool!
Just curious, how much does it cost for venders down in New Mexico? Thanks for the advice about the comment section, I will have to try that.
I haven't looked to see if you left a comment yet on my site, but thank you!
I've been neglecting my business because of time constraints recently. To combat this, I've set up a schedule for myself for making posts and marketing socially. Even if you're not making posts on your website, try to stay active on social media such as Twitter and Facebook. It'll show your followers that you still are active in some sense.
Thanks for your response and your help! I am trying to make a conscious effort to post something everyday on my Facebook pages. I had a really hard time starting Facebook (I felt it was just "one more thing I have to do") and being consistent.
Whoever told you to blog once a week was absolutely right! And it doesn't matter which day of the week either. I taught my husband the roped (what I've learned here at WA) and pointed his site here, too. He blogs minimally once a week and his rankings have SOARED!!! His business has SOARED!!! So just take about 5 minutes and write down some ideas for what to write about. Then sit down later and choose one of your ideas ... write. Done and done. God Bless!
Thank you Cathy for your advice! It's great to know that your husband has been so successful, that is really encouraging. Thanks for responding!
If that wasn't me that told you to publish one post or page per week on the same day, then that person either knows what I know or they read my training on the subject. :-)
Yes! Just post once consistently and you will do fine by Google. That is all I do and I have been doing this for quite some time and I'm ranking on Google Page 1.
Your personal life comes first, your website second, and your WA rank a distant last place.
Yes, it was you Robert! Thanks so much, you really helped me a lot. Maybe I shouldn't do this, but I've been comparing myself with another lady that works with the same company as I do. She has had a website for a few years now but this year she has really stepped up and has been putting a ton of stuff online. She is on Google's 1st pages on many keywords. With her website she has done very well with product sales and recruiting. She is the person that helped me decide that building a website was the thing to do because then I could be a National Recruiter not just local. I hope to grow my business like she has. I know I shouldn't compare myself to anyone but it is nice to know that someone in my business is doing well and I hope to be there someday too.
Question: What if I find that I can write several posts (DRAFTS) and maybe do a couple a week. What would be best? Right now I am posting one on Wednesday each week. Can I add an extra day? But what if later on I can't stay consistent? Then I've screwed up huh?
Thanks again for your help and responding to "Feeling a little overwhelmed". Cindy
When this happens to me what I do is continue to post once per week and all of the other pages and posts I have created I keep as saved drafts. This way I can build up a reservoir of content ready for publishing. I created a training on this very subject a month ago. You can read how I do this here - Tips for Posting in WordPress - My Strategy for Improved SEO Once you have a lot of content saved up and you know you will be able to continue posting 1 or 2 pieces of content a week, then pick another day during the week and post twice a week. If down the road you have to go back to once a week, that will be fine. As long as you keep publishing at least once per week.
Oh thanks a lot Robert, this helps so much, you have no idea. I really appreciate that you took the time to answer my question. I have looked at your training, but I should read it again. It was very helpful! It is so nice to have so many people in WA like you that care and are willing to help others. I hope that someday I will be able to pay it forward also.
Thanks again!
Your rank here has nothing to do with your website Cindy but yes, I do understand how you feel.
My take is, family comes first and doing one post a week is what many people here do when they're juggling jobs and family commitments. :)

No, you are not alone. A lot of us have other commitments as well so we can't do WA 24/7. I have part time work at a University so that has to come first at the moment. Looking forward to the day I can tell the boss to stuff it! (He is very unpleasant). Glyn
Thanks! I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm sorry to hear that you have an unpleasant boss, Glyn, it is really hard to go to work when things aren't quite how you would like them to be. Maybe someday soon you will be on your own, doing your own business. God bless you and your journey. Thanks for responding! Cindy
