When You Get Rejected by an Affiliate Network

I had submitted my site for some affiliate networks as part of the training steps. It went smoothly (my website is a few years old and has content/traffic). Then I started to submit applications to mercants within those networks and started to hit a few snags. I shrugged them off mostly, but one sent me a note that they refused my application because I violated their TOS (terms of service). But they didn't say specifically how I did so.

I then wrote a polite response back, stating that I was a newbie and could they explain how I was violating their TOS. That I would be happy to fix whatever was the problem. I got a quick response stating that I had received that letter in error and that I was approved. This company was Viglink.

The next problem I had was with the merchants in the PepperJam network. A lot of companies in my niche (western clothing) are in this network like levis, wranglers, horse.com , etc. I got into the network no problem but I keep getting autorejected by the merchants. I wrote a note to the support team about this yesterday and got a reply back saying if I submitted a Media Kit that they would resubmit to the merchants who have rejected me. In the meantime, though, I got a note from one of the merchants that auto-rejected me - they changed their mind and I am now an affiliate for Tractor Supply.

The moral to this story - don't take no for an answer. Be polite, but persistant. And if it is still no - well there's plenty of fish in the sea.
