The message says something about that I have set my spam filters to not accept comments from people who are behind proxies. I have googled and researched how to change this but

Are you using any spam plugins on your site (WP Spamshield or Akismet). If so, this might be the reason why this is happening and you can actually remove these plugins (Deactivate & Delete) as they are no longer needed on your site Cari-lee.

Thanks Kyle. I had quite a few spam filters, no idea why as I thought I had removed any that I had. They are now removed so that may solve the problem. Thank you. :)

Cari-lee, it could be a minor adjustment as simple as a box not being checked in your All In One Seo. After you write a post/page, below the editor is where you fill in the info for your All In One SEO. There is also a box you check if comments are not allowed. Either check or uncheck depending what your themes says to do to allow comments.
From my understanding only one spam filter is necessary. I would de-activate any more than one just to see if that is preventing you from getting comments. Some themes do not allow comments - I know from experience - I could only get comments on posts but not pages.
I hope this helps you receive comments. Let me know if you need more attention,
Ken

Thanks Ken, I didn't know that there were boxes in my All in One SEO that might need to be looked into, I will do that. I will also disable the spam filters. I was surprised to see so many, I really don't know how they all got there! :) Much appreciated. C-L

Hi,

Yes, there is a spam filter already in place if you hosted your site at WA. So no need to install any spam filter plugins on your site.

Have you enabled comments on your pages and posts and have you placed any restrictions on your comments section such as comments needed to be approved before they can be published ?

I'd disable your spam plugins first and start troubleshooting from there.

Thank you :) I will remove the spam filters I have and go from there. I do have it set so that comments are enabled. I do have the restriction of needing to approve before they are published. I thought that was a good idea but maybe I am being overly cautious? Thanks so much for taking the time.

If people were able to write comments it would be listed in the comments section for your approval.

There should be a comment menu option on your left when you are logged into your wordpress site as an admin.

Hello, I am doing reviews and my site: www.tightbellytips.com has a reviews page. I thought I should be putting all reviews under that title but now I am not sure. Should I ins

I was told by someone ahead of me here that only few people nowadays use blogs' search boxes. Also, the menu or navigation bar. The only ones that are popular in the nav bar are the "Home", "About Me" page, and the "#1 recommended page".

The best way to have them get attention of people, is by putting them (your review posts) on a list on a side bar, like "latest posts" or "popular posts".

:) Thanks so much! This is very helpful. I appreciate it.

You're welcome. If there's anything I can help, I am only a message away. :)

You can just write your reviews as posts to your blog as you mentioned. Then create a category called "reviews" or "all reviews". When you write a review put it in the category.

Then go to your main menu and add the "Reviews" category to the menu. You can keep the page explaining as you said and the category can be a sub menu item under the page. (When you drag it there just move it to the right a bit so it shows stagered)

When someone clicks on the page it will go to the explanation and if you want you can add a link to the category there too.

If they click the category on the drop down or sub menu your site will display a blog roll of all posts in that category.

Hope this helps... PM me if you need more help!

Thanks Steve,

This does help. Thanks for the thorough explanation and for offering me to message you privately. I think I get it but I may have a question as I start going through it. I really appreciate the quick responses from people, you and @coachgom as it keeps me moving, otherwise I become stuck, distracted and then the next thing you know I am doing something completely irrelevant to my site. Thanks again. C-L
