Lots of you know I have a dog, as I always leave Live Chat at the same time each day, as he comes to paw me around 5pm saying, "come on, time to go for walkies".
So I thought I would introduce you to him!
His name is Beau, and I have had him for 4 years this Easter, from a Rescue Centre, and he is a German Shepherd crossed Collie. We believe he was born in October 2013.
He was owned by a family who decided to visit their home country for a holiday, when Beau was about 1 years old, putting him in to kennels for the duration of it.
Unfortunately, they never returned for him, and he ended up in the rescue pens.
When he was put in to boarding, his previous owners had a mussel on him, along with a pronged choke chain :-(
The kennels threw this away, as it was too cruel for him!
But unfortunately, no one wanted him due to his aggressive behaviour and barking, and he stayed there for 13 months. Not eating, hardly being walked and no love :-(
I saw a post on Facebook and just knew instantly that he was the dog for me. So I contacted the rescue centre and arranged to go and see him.

The first meeting went really well, and as I used to have a family friends dog stay over quite frequently, they wanted to make sure that they got along ok. So I contacted my brother, and we both went over the following day, this time with Kasha, my friends Husky.
Their time together also went really well :-)
I knew instantly that this "viscious" dog was destined for a Forever Home with myself, and that he just needed a good loving home.
Just a few days later, after having a home inspection, we got the all clear, so I went to pick him and once he was "home", I gave him his first bath.
Once he was clean and dry, Kasha came to visit, and they've been friends ever since
Since this day, he has always been a sofa & bed dog. We leave all the doors open in the house and he has free roam to go wherever he wants. I particularly like the "bookend" photo above :-)
On Easter Sunday just gone, I received a new DJI Osmo Mobile 3 gimbal for my iPhone X, so I decided to put it to a test, using the Active Track feature. Below are a few frame captures from that video.
One thing Beau has taught me, is that if you come to a stumbling block / crossroads / a junction
To just go with your gut instinct ;-)

He still has anxiety issues about being left alone, but he is no longer aggressive, and just a lovely happy dog :-)
With me working from home, we're a perfect match for each other :-)

I am so glad to hear that you had a heart to rescue Beau and that you were willing to take the time and effort to provide a loving home for him. Below is a pic of Shiloh, my best bud and partner in my business. He is an animal assisted therapy dog. Because he is a working dog, I had to be very picky, so I chose to go with a pure bred that I know is wonderful in their interactions with people, and then still screened him for his personality traits. I can say that he has been a wonderful partner and companion, we're together almost 24/7 and I wouldn't trade him for the world.
I hope that this is the type of relationship you have been able to build, or are building with Beau. It is a relationship that you will never be sorry about.

Oh, in case anyone is wondering, Shiloh is an English Cream Golden Retriever, which means his lineage is from Europe not the US. His mother was from Serbia and his father from Yugoslavia.
Thank you for sharing Shiloh with me, and other WAers, really appreciate it :-) Looks like an amazing job and likewise, I’m with Beau pretty much 24/7. My Nan used to always have 2 Springer Spaniels at any one time. But as she got older, she changed over to Golden Retrievers. They’re an amazing breed of dog :-)
Wow. Beautiful dogs. Your brother’s dog, beautiful. I am a dog lover too. Hi to Beau! My late husband and I raised Pomeranians and American Eskimos/ Samoyed mix dogs. They are snow dogs. We used to live in the most coldest place in Fargo, North Dakota in the USA. Now I am in the state of Oregon. No more dogs for me. I am happy to see and watch other people dogs in my building. That is satisfying for me. Most are lab dogs, or smaller dogs. Over time, Beau will improve, hope you get to train him.
That's really nice to hear, shame about no more dogs though, but at least you still get to see them :-) Thank you for sharing this with me, really appreciated :-)

I had never thought I would have a dog in my life, but after we adopted "Kuma", I cannot stop loving him. He is Collie crossed Labrador and Retriever, he is 7 months now.
I cannot understand why people dump pets without feeling guilty.

Your dog is so cute! he looks like a sweet dog as well, so sad to hear about how he was treated before you got him 😢 but now that you have him he looks so happy even if you give him a bath. (My dog wouldn't even get in the tub for me 😂) But he is at home.
