I've got a very detailed profile page associated with a website that's not "affiliated" with WA; I am an independent contractor for this website. If I copy and paste--but signi

You're not trying to rank for your about-me page, so I whether or not that page ranks doesn't matter. It won't affect the overall "SEO" or rank power of your site, so copying over is fine IMO. That being said, it's really not that much work to re-write a new page, and I always try to make content unique for my own sites.

Yes, of course, now that you put it that way, it makes a lot of sense. Thanks, Nathaniell.

I was thinking that the ranking for my website AS A WHOLE would decrease. But, of course, it's PAGES that are ranked, not websites. Or are they? (I guess that website HOMEpages are ranked--because they're pages too. Right?)

Regarding your last point: I wouldn't even come close to copying it verbatim. Like I said, I would be editing it--and doing so extensively.

In general, yes, it's pages that rank, not websites. If your site is full of copied pages, that could affect your overall site, but one a few similar pages won't make a difference.

Thank you, Nathaniell!

Rather than editing it, look on it as a re-write and make sure that you use your own words and you'll be fine :)

Thank you, Jude. (But, again, they were my words to begin with).

I'm so sorry Chris, that will teach me to speed read lol - I completely missed the bit that they were already your words.

Completely understandable, Jude. Thanks again.

If you change it enough it will not affect your ranking. Check it with copyscape.com for plagiarism before you publish it.

Thank you! Will do.

The free privacy policy generator I'm using suggests that I need an SSL certificate if I am going to collect personal information such as email addresses.

You do not need an SSL certificate. You are not personally collecting anyone's data. Your privacy policy is there mainly for if you use Adsense.

Thanks, Nathsniell. I didn't think so; just wanted to be sure

Loes ?????

As far as I know you would only need that if you have a shopping cart on your site and are taking credit card information

I appreciate that, Forrest.

You're welcome

In lesson 7, when Kyle says that ideally you want keywords with over 50 monthly searches (when using Jaaxy), is he referring to the first column (“Avg.”) or to the

My friend its average column , and also it called searches in WA keyword tool

Thank you.

First column. The search for the whole site with that keyword

Thank you. That's what I thought at first. But in the video for that lesson he seems to be referring to the second column. I'll watch it again.

Now that's a great question... I'm just so green here... Wish I could help..But every time I've had a question the community responds quite quickly!!

Thanks, Michelle!
