Blog vs. Post
As a former professional proofreader and editor, I can speak with some authority and I just have to point out something that bothers me.
Many writers will refer to their blog posts as blogs. The two words are not interchangeable, actually. On our profile pages there's a button called Create a new blog. It should actually say Create a new post or Create a new blog post.
A blog is short for weblog or web blog. A post is an article that you write on your blog.
So if you're going to create a new blog it means you're going to create a new weblog or a new website in a niche of your choice.
If you're going to write an article for an existing blog, you are creating a new post.
Now, I know this isn't the end of the world but it's good to become familiar with the actual terms used on the Web.
That's all. I felt the need to address this. Thanks for taking the time to read it!
Please take this post in the spirit in which I wrote it...as a happy and grateful member of this amazing community.
We're here for each other, right?

Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for clarifying an area that puzzled me for a long time. But I got it now.
I will be writing an article or post for a blog site.
Maybe setting up a new "blog site on cats" or whatever.
Thanks again.
Bill
I know...it's confusing because nobody really addresses it. I learned this years ago when I first started blogging.
Unfortunately, not everyone understands the English language. It is one of the harder ones to get to terms with.
