I was just reading an interesting and enlightening article in Entrpreneur magazine (online) that I thought I'd share. The link to the article is below. The gist is that Facebook is cracking down on spammy ad types. I've seen a few WA members who might just be asking for trouble with some of their claims and this is good information.Plus, seemingly harmless things like all caps in a title or too many exclamation points may be subject to rejecting an ad. The FB algorithm can tell if you're keyword

Hi all,Just thought I'd post a link to this AARP article about how scammers are getting bolder. This one deals with scammers offering to design websites for very little money and then convincing the unsuspecting to spend more and more with promises of great riches. So glad we have such a secure community. Here's the link: Why a Cheap Website Design Could End Up Costing Thousands.

Hi everyone!I've spent the past few days trying to replace the wrong Amazon links on all of the blog posts on my site. It all started when I realized that I wasn't getting credit for sales that I was sure were taking place. So I called Amazon Affiliates Help Desk and learned that I actually had two accounts, one of which was invalid. Years ago I had an Amazon Affilialte account for a different platform (Squidoo) and had never cancelled it. When I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I applied for and was g

There are so many things to consider when writing a blogpost. Is it going to be SEO friendly, for one thing. So many considerations go into becoming SEO friendly, especially if you're new to blogging.I posted a comment on a fellow WA member's blog and it occurred to me that I should say a little something about it on my own WA blog!Focus keywords, readability, meta descriptions, internal links, outbound links, etc., etc.I use the Yoast SEO plugin - the free version - and I don't know what I'd d

As a former professional proofreader and editor, I can speak with some authority and I just have to point out something that bothers me.Many writers will refer to their blog posts as blogs. The two words are not interchangeable, actually. On our profile pages there's a button called Create a new blog. It should actually say Create a new post or Create a new blog post.A blog is short for weblog or web blog. A post is an article that you write on your blog. So if you're going to create a new blog

I'm kind of in a pickle...I put these classes on hold for a couple of months and now I'm struggling to re-connect. Also, I need to vent a little. In a nutshell...I had two unavoidable trips to Washington and one to Arizona after my health scare in November. I'm grateful that we can work from anywhere but I've got to say it's harder than I thought it would be. It was really difficult to find time to be online. And internet access was sketchy at times. My rankings dropped dramatically which isn't s

I've been so bad, lately, about keeping up with my WA sites and interacting with everyone. So I need to explain why.For the past couple of months, my energy level just wasn't up to par. I tired easily and just couldn't stay focused. Then, about two weeks ago I started experiencing episodes of shortness of breath. I thought it was just because I needed more exercise, but you know how that goes...put it off.All of a sudden those episodes of shortness of breath became concerning. I could barely ma

Hi everyone,I have always been confused about the time that Amazon cookies are valid. I have read that the cookies disappear after 24 hours and that just didn't seem right to me.I recently had a session with one of the Amazon support people and I saved the conversation. I'm going to paste it here. The quote that I gave her was from someone on the Amazon Associates Discussion Board where I originally went to see if my question would be addressed. I wasn't satisfied so I went to the Feedback l

Hi everyone,I haven't been as active online, lately, but I've been really busy researching all sorts of things. I wanted to let you know about a really good resource if you're an Amazon Associate. It's possible that you all know about it, already, and I'm just a late bloomer!Anyway, if you have any questions about your association with Amazon, you can get help through the Amazon Discussion Boards. Once you log into your account, you'll find the link is located in the left side-bar under "Stay C

I absolutely do not get Webmaster Tools & Google Analytics. They make no sense. On the one hand, it looks like my WA site isn't indexed, yet, but it shows that almost half of the traffic (such as it is) is returning traffic. While my other site seems to be losing traffic. What the heck does that mean?Nothing is explained in plain language. I find it incredibly confusing. It makes me mad! I am not a dummy but I need an "Understanding Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools for Dummies".Ther
