How to get affiliate links to open in a new page?

One of my affiliate advertisers provides html that opens the link in the same page (meaning that the visitor to the site leaves my site instead of opening a new page). Is there language I can add to the html so that a new page is opened leaving my site still open?

this is a good question and one I'd like an answer to also. I just added a banner to my site yesterday and it re-directs instead of opening a new window. Let me know if you get your answer :)
Amazon's links seem to always open a new page; in fact, their code includes this phrase: link_opens_in_new_window=true
I wrote the affiliate dep't for the other company and they pointed out a box at the very end of the page to click for opening a new page.
So I recommend you raise the question with the company for which you are an affiliate. After all, we want to keep people on our sites, right?
Hi Masirois! Have you any more ideas about this? I have another set of banners with code that replaces my page with the page for the product offered, meaning the visitor leaves my site completely. The affil;iate support people haven't offered a solution.
