Im trying to join an affiliate program but they are asking for a tax ID. Im creating a blog not actually selling anything. How can I fix this?

Nemira is correct. Unless you have a social security number and list yourself as a "Individual/Sole Proprietor" you will need to file for a Tax ID number for the IRS. Mike

Yes I do have SSN. So I can use that instead a tax ID?
thank you for the help :)

If the program that you are looking to join will allow it then yes you can use your SSN make sure that you chose "Individual/ sole Proprietor" and it should allow you to finish the application process. Mike

Thank you Mike

Did it help? Were you able to finish the application process? Mike

I guess that the reason that you join an affiliate program is a wish to earn money through them. We need to pay tax on income. If you write a blog and join an affiliate program, it means that you will promote their products or service. If somebody buys something through your website from this particular affiliate program ,you will get the money. These companies are accountable at the end of the year and report their money movement to institutions such as IRS in the USA.
I think that you are old enough and you have tax ID, do you?

I will have to apply for a tax ID, but I do have my ssn
Thank you for the help :)
