Valuable Information I Found Today
During my visit to DomW's Website today, I stumbled upon a guest post written by Rufat, and I learned a lot from his case study.
His blog was written in 2015, and I think some of the advices are still working.
The author listed some mistakes he made in his starting up his online bloggging, and some of which are exactly things I learned as a beginner.
1.As is mentioned in the blog, one should stop writing any keywords containing"make money online" keywords because there are too many older authority site targeting these keywords.
2.It's better to, as I quote, "Focus on writing articles around keywords that have the lowest competition, keywords with under 60 competing pages or even less provided they have at least 40 monthly searches.". And this is different from what I learned here. Well, everyone has their own ideas, and maybe I should start with this easiest plan.
3.Creating content should be the focus. He believed that, "in order to maintain steady traffic you need to create content almost every day or 3,4 times per week at least."
I've actually looking for some best schedule of writing blogs, and what I got are mostly asking me to find my own pace. Well, I think that could be true, but it's not helping! Especially when I am just a newbie in this area.
So this is very concrete, 3-4 times per week and it's workable, so I will stick to this plan then.
4. Create longer posts would help your ranking. The author had been writing posts long than 2000 words. Mine is never longer than 1500 words, but I will try to push the limit in the future.
5. People keep telling me backlinks are not effective these days. But Rufat knew from experience that, quality backlinks are still helping you significantly in ranking. And I am looking forward to finding that out.

1500 words are still very good! Remember, it's better to have fewer words but a more interesting/engaging post than a long stretched and boring post. Word count is not everything.
Backlinks are indeed important as long as they're high quality. If you can get backlinks to your site from a site with a high Domain Authority, this will eventually improve your rankings.
I've also been reading a lot on Dom's website lately. There's a lot of useful info on it :)
About backlinks, I've been thinking of getting the $60 package on TheHoth. The service is also recommended by Dom.

Yes, I read that, and since I just started my site, I didn't reach that part of getting backlinks I think, but will do later.
They also mentioned that the comments are not very important in ranking. What's your opinion?

Thank you for the text. Here are some comments.
2. I almost never go above 30-40 competing pages, in fact it is mostly below 20. It becomes impossible to rank if you go high with this. My limit for monthly searches is similar, I keep it above 50.
3. I am good here, usually post daily.
4. This is disputable, but no objections in principle. Have 360 words post on the top page in Google. My average is probably above 1000.
5. Whoever says backlinks are not effective is misinformed. So called PageRank is still one of the factors. It is determined by the number of incoming links and outgoing links.
