Goals for August 2016
Wow. I feel like it was only last week that I wrote up my July goals. Another new month, time flies when you're having fun!
I kind of changed direction a bit last month and unintentionally took a break from posting on my site for two whole weeks. But now I'm back in action.
I got to commenting on a few blogs in my niche and had some amazing wins out of it - a copy editing role and a joint venture webinar request. Wow!
I also decided that I should post my traffic stats on my blog (starting with July). So immediately had to go out and do whatever I could to bring them up to scratch - I mean, there a mom bloggers in my niche getting 4000+ page views in their very first month blogging. I haven't even cracked that yet, total.
I tried to focus on my editorial calendar in July, because I was finding it really difficult to stay on track. I wasn't managing my time well.
So what I've done is make a spreadsheet with the hour long blocks I have available each day and I've decided what I will focus on for each of those hours. I think it will help.
I've also put my new site idea on the backburner for a little while as I have a lot on my plate.
Anyway. I mostly ignored my other goals for July. But August will be a different story. There's a lot of CONCRETE goals I want to achieve this month, and I won't be able to if I ignore them.
Goals for August 2016
- Increase Traffic
- Increase Email Subscriber List
- Increase Income
Increase Traffic
- Guest Posting - I have 5 sites in mind that I will pitch to, 1 per week.
- Commenting on Niche Blogs - I've set aside an hour a day to hit as many blogs as possible and leave meaningful comments.
- Facebook Groups - I created the ultimate list of Facebook Promo Groups and now I just need to use them. There are a total of ~400,000 people in these groups. Not bad, right?
- Pinterest Power Up - interesting thing talked about in the Uncork Your Dork Facebook Group - creating 5 headlines for each article and a new (different) pin style for each. You are effectively getting 5x the exposure for one article (and you'll also find out what style is most effective).
Increase Email Subscriber List
- Webinar - I need to do at least one webinar to practice before my joint one. I'm thinking it will be late this month.
- Landing pages - for content upgrades, library and WA sales funnel.
- Lead magnet - I need a lead magnet. Considering either Schmoozing 101 or Pinterest..
Increase Income
- WA Sales Funnel + ads - I have some credit left from a trial of Bing Ads and will hopefully have some from Adwords too.
So.
That's me in a nutshell. For the next month.
I'm going to switch to Monthly Goal Updates now.
Quite simply because I don't think I'll have time to write a considered wrap up of each week!

Intensive agenda Cathy. Putting yourself out there takes a lot at first, but the payoff will come.
