Today was a tearful day. Nothing bad. VERY good tears.

If you have never thought about this, now is an opportune time to know that you hold the key to change lives in a meaningful and profound way.

There is no fuss and no fanfare to achieve this. You can do it, 1 blog at a time.

A Friend Reached Out

While at Boarding School in England in the early 80s, I became friends with a fellow Caribbean native from Guyana. She was my junior, full of life and energy and, like all of us at Boarding School, far from home.

When we left, we all went our separate ways. I travelled the world and she stayed in England, became a Psychotherapist and established her own practice.

Fast forward to 2020, when the world seemed to fall apart and take businesses and earnings with it.

Through Facebook, we re-connected and one day, I received this message:

Of course, with 1 year of WA training under my belt, I said yes and quickly extended an offer to assist. This was a long-time friend and I was keen to help.

The message went on to say:

This was a serious cry for help and I did not hesitate to do what I could.

Transforming to Content-Driven

When I took a look at her website, 3 months ago, this is what I saw:

A simple website, self-made to establish a presence on the internet. Business was good before the pandemic, with ongoing local clients, so there was no need to think about doing anything more with her online presence.

Over the past 3 months, I have been working with her to do 1 thing - add content to her website to attract traffic and visitors.

Nothing else. No other changes. Just that 1 addition.

24 blogs have been added to her website using intent keywords. All have been indexed by Google with 13 ranking on page 1.

Success Started Sooner Than Planned

The initial objective was simply to get her into the practice of writing content. She has been writing and sending it to me. I have been editing and formatting for her website.

This morning at 4 am, (the UK is 5 hours ahead of us), I was awoken by my phone ringing and an excited voice on the other end.

My friend called to say that this week, she has received 3 new clients, 2 in the UK and 1 in Australia. They had read her blog posts and were attracted to the empathy and uniqueness in her writing.

She was ecstatic, to say the least, and, so was I!.

Her end goal is to transition her business to 90% online in a very defined, niche market.

My objective is to also help her monetise her website. That will support her through any further ebbs and flows that the future may hold.

We will also do a total refurbishment of her website during this year, with hosting at Wealthy Affiliate (WA).

Another Content & Affiliate Marketer in the pipeline. 🙂

We Facilitate Change

In so many ways, this project is close to my heart.

This is a friend who reached out as the sole breadwinner for her family, wanting to find a way to change the way she works and improve her lifestyle.

What better reason to do what we do?

WA teaches us to be facilitators of change in the lives of our visitors and clients. While doing that, we can benefit from knowing that we are enablers with the power to diversify our reach and earnings.

How is your week going?

Cassi - A wonderful conclusion to a friend asking for help.

It is indeed fortunate that your friend asked, & you were able to assist her.
She in turn is learning new skills after receiving your help.

I can only imagine the excitement from your friend & also for you from the early morning telephone call.

It is a WIN Win result for both of you.

I remind myself, how small the world has become due to the internet.
An online business created due to COVID with her new clients from Australia & the UK. No doubt more will follow.

Denis

Yes!
That is what's awesome about this, Denis.

I am here in Trinidad, helping a friend in the UK who is getting clients from as far away as Australia.
That is SO cool!!

We are both ecstatic and I know that she will continue to progress well.

Thank you for your kind feedback.
Cassi

So good that she was able to reach out to you and that you were willing (and able) to help.
I like that you didn't do everything but rather guided her, this will have undoubtedly given her the confidence she would need moving into a new arena.
The transition isn't always easy.

"Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

My Dad always said that when he was teaching us some of life's lessons.
We thought he was being tough but he was making us tough and helped to make us resilient.

She is doing great, one step at a time and I am enjoying supporting her.
By this time next year, she would have mastered a few skills of her own.

Thank you for sharing, Twack.

Always a pleasure. It's a solid adage and one worth remembering.
Present company excluded but there are some that have the "Move over and let me do it" attitude, which is fine as long as you're always available.
So much better to provide the necessary skills.

So very true.
I fully support that, Twack.

Hello Cassi,

First of all Cassi, that's a great blog post, it's great that you have been able to help a friend and put your skills into practice.

I really like the title of your blog post, too many of us try and put the blame on other people! But, at the end of the day, we hold the keys to change our lives! And I really believe that it's too easy to moan about the situation rather than taking action!

The great thing is that you are taking action and moving rapidly forward and helping others.

All I can say is; well done fantastic news!

Keep up the good work.

Roy

Thank you very much, Roy, for your kind words and encouragement.
It feels really good to help my friend and more so to see success start to happen.

Cassi

Good morning Cassi,

I believe that the principles of helping others, pays off Cassi and it also brings huge satisfaction. You can now write a blog post on how you helped to turn your friends business around!

Have a great day.

Roy

A wonderful story and credit to you Cassi and how wonderful WA is.
I am especially grateful as a UK therapist myself to hear of this great news. It has been a tough year for many therapists to transfer to online work. I can imagine what a wonderful blessing you have been to your friend.
Wishing you both continued success in this transition.
Keep up your great work and gift to others.
Tracy

Tracy, it is good to know that you understand and empathise with the issues being faced.
Yes, things have been tough for Therapists and other professionals who have traditionally worked offline, one-on-one.

It is a good blessing, indeed, and I am happy to be able to help her.

Thank you for sharing.
Cassi
