Law Of Attraction And Abundance - Day 3 - Open Yourself To Receive

Many people are conflicted when approaching the Law of Attracting and Abundance. There is a simple yet critical aspect of walking this journey that could frustrate you and leave you concluding that it does not work.

You MUST open yourself to receive!

Contemplate that for a few minutes.

And then a few minutes more.

I Struggled to Receive

For many years, I struggled to receive. Giving came very easily. I would give my last plate of food to anyone who needed it more. I
would take my shoes off my feet and happily give them to someone else.

But receiving was my Achilles Heel. I just could not bring myself to open up and accept from others.

There were many reasons, the primary one being distrust. Perhaps, in time, I will share more about that.

What I Learned

While living in New Zealand, through some amazing people, I learned that I had to open myself to receiving if I wanted to grow.

Think about nature and what may appear to be simple.

If a plant does not receive water, it will die. The tree will eventually stop bearing fruit, dry up and die.

The same happens to human beings.

If you are not open to receiving, you will not learn new things. You will not progress and grow. Your understanding and relationships will be limited.

Your world will diminish over time.

Wealthy Affiliate Stretched My Arms

It was not until I arrived at Wealthy Affiliate (WA) that I realised I still had a lot more opening to do.

There was a lot of distrust that I had not yet dealt with and that came to the forefront when I started to receive comments and feedback.

How could so many people see so much goodness and potential in me and, how could so many more people give of themselves so selflessly?

It took me a LONG time to accept these new behaviours and give trust.

When I finally let go, stretched my arms and open my hands, everything changed!

I can never give back more than what I receive here at WA, every day.

For that, I am abundantly blessed and grateful!

Cassi, I also have to learn to receive. I have been giving all my life. Just a couple of weeks ago I started asking for help and receive it to. Excellent series on the “Law of Attraction and Abundance”. I am reading a book called “Do Less” by Kate Northrup. This is a real eye opener for me. I started asking my husband for help in household chores so I have more time for WA. 😊

That is excellent, Jeannette!

We do have help around us.
All we have to do is reach out and ask for it.

Keep making progress!

Thank you for your support.

Hi Cassi,

I believe that many find it hard to receive. Not all, but most of us are kind-spirited and it is not in our nature to openly accept the positives involved in our daily lives. Additionally, I fully agree with you, we must learn how to achieve this task or face stagnation of our personal growth. Unfortunately, I don’t believe that this is something that we can just force upon ourselves, but most of us, will slowly learn this over a period of time.

Standing open-minded with stretched out arms is spectacular to embrace, and should be enjoyed by any entrepreneur than wants to enhance their lives while fortifying their future growth.

It has amazed me, later in my career, how much growth and advancement are so intertwined with each other, without either our businesses’ lifespan is in jeopardy. I feel that, it is almost paramount to learn to receive, enabling us to willfully give to others along our journey. The more we can grasp this ideology, the more we allow our businesses to grow along with us as well.

Great read, very intriguing and thought-provoking,

Calvin

Calvin, such inciteful comments and feedback!
A great share.

Arms outstretched is an excellent vision.
It feels so different when we stand like that, open to the Universe.

Thank you for your feedback.

Hi Cassi,

I feel when any member from within the WA community takes the time out of their busy day to try to help the community as a whole by posting material that most can actually learn from rather than a simple socializing post.

They deserve the respect, of more than just a generic comment. Moreover, those commenting, In My Opinion, should try to enhance the learning even further.

I mean, isn’t that the point of commenting on blog posts in the first place? Adding to the conversation: not just acknowledging its existence or attempting to socialize with the author which can be done through Private Messaging.

Primarily I only comment on those posts that I feel are related to WA or someone’s experience at WA. Yes, occasionally I do accidentally post comments on non-WA-related posts, but hey I am only human, and I never said I was perfect or don't make mistakes also.

Ignore the rules of the platform and I ignore your material, sounds only fair to me! This may sound very harsh to some but it all boils down to why I joined WA in the first place. That was to learn how to more efficiently run my online business.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that is why this platform was created in the first place?

Just my thoughts,

Calvin

It is truly refreshing to engage and discuss, Calvin.

Your points are valid and I appreciate the time you take to comment

Thank you.

Beautiful post Cassi. I can certainly relate to not being open to receiving. Thank you for opening my eyes. I think my struggle is not with trust so much as believing I am deserving of the blessings in life. I definitely have some work to do. Thanks for clarifying the path to receiving abundance in all areas of life. Best wishes moving forward.

You are very welcome, Richard.

The feeling that you do not deserve to receive is a major blocker for many.
Especially persons who give so much.

But, to keep giving, you must also receive and replenish.
Otherwise, you will soon be running on empty.

Thank you for sharing.

Cassi.

Interesting thoughts, Cassi. I never really considered being open to receiving.

I am like what you were. I am not good at receiving things. I never have been.
Giving of myself and or things, yes, I can do that. I have made a life out of it.

I will take your words under advisement and I look forward to your posts.

Alex

It is a journey to change, Alex.
For me, it was years.

I am very happy that I crossed the hurdle though.
Not totally out of the woods yet but, getting there.

Thank you.

Hi Cassi, I have struggled with recieving and asking. These are things I think I learned from my parents. Well my dad earned his way to the top, but I can't remember him ever asking for help. Of course my mum would just give and give to those in need.

I have learned a lot from WA besides the online stuff, and that it is OK to ask when the need arises. I try my best to give back to the community.

All the best,
Michael

Likewise, Michael. 🙂

WA has helped me A LOT!

Thank you for sharing.
