Do Not Worry About Google Indexing - Do This Instead

So often I observe what seems to be almost an obsession with being indexed by Google. I can confidently say, after my experiences building content, do not worry about Google indexing for your blog posts.

Many of our Wealthy Affiliate (WA) members get stressed and disappointed when they do not see their blog posts being indexed and spend an awful amount of time checking it and writing blogs about it.

Taking that route will only get you frustrated and cause you to lose momentum.

I strongly suggest that you do this instead.

1. Spend More Time on Keyword Research

We are fortunate at WA to have one of the best, if not THE BEST, keyword research tool available. The power of Jaaxy is phenomenal.

To benefit from that though, you must use it consistently. Research takes time and understanding what the user is looking for.

It is like riding a bicycle. You may have to fall off a few times but eventually, you get it and it becomes easy to jump off and on. Over time, you build your confidence and stamina and you can tackle any terrain.

2. Keep Building Your Content

Yesterday, Nathaniell shared a great blog post that resonated loudly with me.

It reminded me that our business is easy once you find your rhythm. Once you learn to ride your bicycle.

Pause and have read of his article, if you have not done so as yet. It makes SO much sense.

Building content is the essence of what we are learning to do. Forget all the other frills for now. Keep writing. Keep improving your engagement in your blogs and keep strengthen your content skills.

If you do just those 2 things - keyword research and write content - consistently, indexing and ranking will quickly follow you.

Here's an example of what I mean:

3 of my websites at different stages of growth. I do not request indexing from Google, I just write and publish my content and let it happen organically.

Notice that the article I wrote for LaMP yesterday is already indexed (and it is the shortest blog post).

Cassi Of Troy is a much younger website with only 11 posts so I expect that it will take a bit longer for my blogs to be indexed.

No sweat.

3. Set Content Goals

By the end of 2021, I will have at least 600 pieces of content on the web. I am aiming for more, time permitting.

This is, in my humble opinion, the best goal that you can set. Compete against yourself and build more and better content.

Work on it EVERY DAY.

Soon you will start to see yourself and your business reaping all the rewards.

Have a productive day!

Cassi

Good morning Cassi,

Thank you for another excellent blog post and also your very wise words, I can echo them!

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that I see headlines on a daily basis, like;

"Google has indexed my blog post"!

Another popular headline is;

"My blog post is on page 1 of Google"!

There aren't many times our blog posts can be found on page 1 of Google if we put the exact title into Google! Unfortunately, people rarely put the exact title of our blog post into Google!

As you rightly mention Cassi, too many people are spending time looking at rankings and affiliate stats. Incidentally, I used to check my affiliate stats a lot in the early days, it doesn't get you anywhere! Apart from losing time and momentum!

If you're new here, the best thing you can do is to stop checking if your posts have been indexed and just keep writing! I find that on one of my websites, my posts are indexed within minutes due to the fact that I'm writing regularly.

We are far better off to keep writing content, Google loves to see fresh content on our websites. It's also amazing how quickly content built up, especially if we can get in a routine like you have done Cassi. Over a period of time, we can quickly have many blog posts if we are willing to write regularly.

I'm impressed that you hope to have 600 blog posts by the end of 2021, that's fantastic.

I find that if I get a good night's sleep I can write so much quicker. For example, yesterday I wrote an approximate thousand-word blog post in 15 minutes. Obviously, I have two format the blog post, but it just shows what can be done with a mind to something. Also, if we know and have a passion for our niche, it will speed up the writing process considerably. I do use Dragon NaturallySpeaking which speeds up the process as I can't type very quickly.

Apparently, if we are carrying out a task and we get interrupted, it can take around 20 minutes to get back on track again. So if we are writing and we get interrupted we are losing valuable time without even realising. So things like checking stats can be extremely destructive and time-consuming.

Goals and working every day or six days a week is extremely powerful, I couldn't agree with you more Cassi.

My apologies, I may have digressed slightly, I am just trying to get the point over!

Have a great day.

Roy

No apologies necessary, Roy.

You have made VERY insightful comments and I agree with you.
It's where your priorities lie and what will propel you and your business forward that gives you the competitive edge.

So many things cause us to waste time and not realize it.

Writing takes concentration to develop it into an art.

Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom and experience.
I always appreciate it.

Cassi

Thank you for understanding Cassi,

I count time as a very valuable asset and I feel that we need to spend our time very wisely indeed as it something we never get back.

When I was at Bible school The Principal always said that one of the most important things we need is plenty of sleep. You can't work on burnout! I believe that in my experience this is so true if we want to be productive. I need to be alert to write quickly and efficiently.

It's a pleasure to read your blog posts Cassi and it's always good to hear other people's experiences. I believe that we all have something to add in this life.

Enjoy the rest of her day,

Roy

You are always on point, Roy and I like that.

Your comments are thoughtful, packed with wisdom and helpful.

Thank you.

You are very right Cassi. I had similar worries. But immediately my publishing rate moved to 90%, I had more post indexed. Sometimes 2 to 3 in a day.
Moreover, I think we should have a pattern of the way we publish posts too. Like we can publish Monday, Wednesday, Friday, etc, or Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, etc all times without fluctuating the days. With this, it does not confuse Google's ALgorithm during indexing.
Just like if google knows you usually publish on Tuesday and on a certain Tuesday it doesn't find a post, then it will not be very good. However, regularity is key.
I hope I make some little sense here.
Thanks.

Akon, it makes GREAT sense!

Having a schedule is ideal and what we should all aim for.
You are right.
AI is managed by machines that work with a schedule, so Google would expect a certain rhythm in your publishing.

That's an "ah ha" moment right there!

Thank you.
Cassi

I fully agreed with you, do not waste time on the ranking matter.

I have used one of the keywords from Google Search Console report recently, I found this post attract more visitors. Then my new posts I purposely link to this post to get more visitors. At least now I have one post rank well with Google 5, Bing 6 and Yahoo 5.

Keyword can help improve ranking is 100% true. Making it more visible can help ranking too.

Good going, Stephen!

Keep focusing on your content and everything else will follow.

Thank you for sharing.
Cassi

All the newbies must read this Cassi, just like I say they must hear that this isn't 1,2, 3 and done- then money rains.

As I tell those who worry about indexing, I had to wait over 4 months to get an article indexed and I fretted not- just did the service provision for site visitors- and I know the reward will follow- tried and true formula.

To Success

"tried and true formula"

I like that, Chris and I agree with you, 100%.

Thank you for sharing.
Cassi

Hi Cassi, your post makes total sense, I agree with you.
You're right on point with my thinking.

I've started to post more content with valuable keywords,
and am worrying less about indexing.

However, it's still a thrill and a confident builder
for us newbies to see our articles indexed by Google.

Great post, thanks for the tips.
Melanie

Yes, it is a thrill and a really nice warm, fuzzy feeling, Melanie.
A welcomed one at that but, do not stay there too long.
Rather, use it to propel you to more and better quality.

Thank you for sharing.
Cassi

Yes indeed.
Thanks
