"June to soon July stand by August a must September all over"

Seeing that we are in the Hurricane Season, with Stormy Seas, Tropical Storm, Gusted winds, Tornado and Earth Quake and what ever is in your area. Are you prepared?

Do you have an Emergency bag? For now, it is just a bag, but what if you are in the path of one of these mention above is your bag ready, or will you be running all over the house trying to find things to put in it. Some may not have the time to do so .

"BE PREPARD"

When Hurricane Isaias came through last week it was not a bad Storm It was more winds in our area most of the damage was fallen trees, there are still peopled without electricity. Other places like New Jersey probable will say differently they had rained as well.

If something happen and you were not able to stay in your home for a week or more do you know where you will be staying, have you make arrangement with friends or family members outside your area. If you haven't now is the time, you should start calling and making arrangement as to where you will go.

"THE GO BAG"

It is recommended that you have a bag preferable a backpack, one reason being you will have your hands free to hold on to a child or to move Debra from your path. Like me with my bad knee I probable will use a cane for support, we don't know what the situation we will be facing.

So get rolling. I have 7 bags but they are not complete so that is my Job to have them all ready just in case. One bag is just emergency supplies water, bandage, gauze, disinfectant splint, cotton, wrap for sprain, scissors, water, flashlight in a Ziploc bag with batteries.

Each bag should be personalized, what is in my bag is differently different from my grandson. Couple change of clothing, pencil, crayon and paper water each bag should have at least 2 to 3 bottles of water think of the one carrying it, my grand baby is only 7 years old so there s a limit as to what he will be able to carry.

All in all Be prepared.

Bible.... First aid kit...... Hygiene Kit... PanCho... Bath tissue .... Plastic bags for waste.... Medication....pain medication....safety Goggle .... Sewing Kit..... Work gloves .... Match, or fire stick, cigar lighter... Flashlight... A knife... phone charger... preferable solar... Radio.... Bars... Non perishable food, like your favorite granola remembering it's not a party you are going to this is a survival kit you are building, thing to fit in a backpack on your back. I used Ziploc bags a lot I figure it can be reuse, like the hygiene kit you make your own by putting tooth brush, toothpaste, soap deodorant washcloth, lotion all in one Ziploc bag. Try to always keep some cash on hand around this time you don't know what the situation with the banks will be.

I also use a pillowcase to put the change of clothing in that way it can also be use as a pillow if you need to rest your head. Another thing I do is I line the bottom of my back with a few disposable plastic bags they are light and hardly take any place at all.

Just make it personal, but remember it has to be light enough for the individual to carry with no problem at all.

PS: Can you imagine trying to put these things together at the last minute.

Happy Packing.

When I lost power for almost 2 weeks following Katrina and Gustav I slept in my truck because it was too hot to sleep inside. Survived mostly on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, tuna fish and beer.

That was after I cooked all the food Ii had in the fridge and freezer on a propane burner I have for boiling crawfish and crabs.

Days I spent at a daquiri shop with cold air. Because of a curfew they had to close at 8 PM. Some guy set up a grill at a nearby strip mall and was selling hamburgers and sausage poboys..

I have a fan that's powered by a 12 volt auto battery. I put it in the truck and set it to where it would blow over the ice in an ice chest.

Battery would run down every night but I would bring it to an auto zone who would charge it for me at no charge. Took a couple of hours which I would spend in line at a gas station to make sure you my tank was topped up

That is so cool, so you know now the important of being prepard, thanks for sharing, I like the idea of using the ice and the fan.
Have a wonderful day.

You can make a better one than that, Get some kind of blower and cut a hole in an old ice chest. There are videos on YouTube that show you how,

Life is full of disasters, my moto is always be prepared for what ever might come you way.
Good post for those who don't know.
