The Working Dressage Rider

The title of this post is a domain name I just thought of for my website. The target audience or niche would be dressage riders. Most dressage riders these days just show their horses before judges in an arena. But there is way more to dressage than that. A good dressage horse should be able to jump a fence, herd some cows, negotiate a mountain path, forge a stream. Dressage is a centuries old training method that has evolved into a performance for spectators. As a result, the original purpose, which is simply to train a good riding horse, has been lost. My website would focus the modern dressage rider on the original purpose and the versatie horse that can be created as a result. I am one such dressage rider and I'm thinking where there's one, there's more. The first article in this blog addresses the first stage of making an all-around good dressage horse, or good horse. That's in-hand training before the horse is ready to be ridden. I already have a year's worth of articles to address this. But there's more. Then there's all the stuff you do with the horse after the in-hand training and associated issues which come up. Some of the issues which have come up for me just recently are getting the bit in the horse's mouth when he doesn't want to open it, how one progresses with one's riding without a trainer, staying safe while working a stallion when you're 71 years old, addressing the new fad of training in pillars and the problems this creates, etc. There are accessories which go with all this including bridles, saddles, boots, bits, pads reins, britches, gloves, etc. If there's anybody out there who's reading this, please tell me if this makes sense as a niche. If so, then there's the question of finding affiilate programs which go with it.

Hi again. I missed this post earlier. I live in Colorado and dressage is very popular in my area. Western dressage is also becoming popular.

Although I sit better, more naturally, in a hunter jumper saddle, I am determined to become proficient at dressage some day when I'm not working so much. One of my horses is a retired sport horse.

You've got so many articles already planned, I say go for it. The faster you can get content published, the quicker that you will be able to get Google to notice your site.

I've seen statistics somewhere that a lot of older women are enjoying the opportunity to have horses now. Your challenges are ones that many of us can relate to.

Last week, I was researching a few horse related affiliate programs. Amazon has lots of horse stuff and Dover Saddlery is an Amazon seller. Tractor Supply. Home Depot has things that I use on my ranch. The good thing about Home Depot, is that if people purchase online, they can pick up at their local store.

If you choose to occasionally talk about the all important ranch dogs and barn cats, Petco has an affiliate program.

There are others, but those are my favorites that I've stumbled across. For now, Amazon keeps me busy.

Thanks, Sondra. I'm sure as I get into this, I'll be talking to you a lot. I appreciate the support.

Hi Carole
I stopped by earlier for a quick comment and I have time now to tell you I adore horses and being from New Zealand we have some spectacular sports people in the dressage arenas.
I have in my younger years been a hill country rider on sheep stations where you ride on forever it seems into the beautiful backcountry with all its wildness and wonder.
This niche is awesome and I know you are going to do really great.
I typed Affiliate program for Horse Gear and Aff Prog for Horses and all sorts of great places come up so I know you will be on your way when you have a really solid foundation built and by the sounds of it you have a lot of great written material to publish so it won't take long
All the very best and please do some progress blogs as you move forward
Vicki

Thanks, Vicki

Just did a quick Jaaxy look and I think you have got
yourself a winner ::))
Monetizing can be done with all the equipment and all
