I just bought a new domain name last night for a new niche that I want to try. It wasn't until after I had bought the name and set up my webpage that I did a google search to
I don't think there would be sufficient there for someone to sue you as although the title may be the same this doesn't mean the content is?
I would suggest you would be in more trouble if the book or anything other persons material were exactly the same as yours.
Example:
i create a website called "whatsthetimemrwolf.com"which is all about time zones and events around the world (site doesn't exist just brain stormed it...)
Now we both know that that title is also a well known children game on the playground, so someone else may have published something with the same title.... this doesn't mean that you can be sued however because although your website has the same name, the content and reasoning are completely different. If you had somehow managed to create a website with exactly the same name as someone else that would be different but since domains need to be registered this isn't anything to worry about.

It does help, my concern is my website name is http://thethrillofthegrill.com, and of course is all about grilling. The book is the same. So although they are separate the content subject is really similar if not exact. You can see my worry.
Yes i can see why you are concerned..
possibly the easiest way to remedy this is to contact the author directy and make them aware.... no harm done?
If they disagree you will save the legal sting before it starts and you are showing transparency this way before they find out themselves.
You never know they may even be ok with it.. even strike a deal, promote their book on your website as deal breaker for keeping your domain??

That's not a bad suggestion. I did some more digging online and found this simplified explanation of what I've run into. It's basically everything that you've already mentioned. Thanks for the response.

So here’s the scenario.I have been using Wealthy Affiliate for a short time now and have been loving everything that it has to offer.I have enjoyed it so much that I&rsqu
If you just starting out, it is better to have a lot on content within ONE subject/niche. Having a lot of quantity across various subjects is good for news website, but you will need a ton of post everyday to compete with similar websites.
You can try to branch out other subject once you feel pretty confident about your first niche (having a lot of content and traffic, and spare time).

Good insight. I hadn't really thought of it along the lines of comparing it to a news website, but that's kind of what it would be like. I was thinking more about starting with one subject and then spreading out as you suggested later and I'm still leaning that direction, but it's nice to know that the alternative is still an option. I think you have to think back what is it that you want to do with your website. If you’ve confidence you can handle writing on various subjects, go ahead.
You just have to remember one thing, it’s the quality that matters. You can write a long post, be it on a specific niche or multiple niches but if there’s no quality then it’s pretty much useless. However, if it’s the opposite, then there’s absolutely no problem with that =)

I was thinking more in the opposite direction, that it would be better to focus on one subject, but I felt that you explained things in a way that I can see what you mean. Because I'm still fairly new to WA I don't know if I'm comfortable enough to try and write on multiple subjects, but it's something that I'll have to consider and think more about. Thank you again.
In my opinion, for new blogs its better to concentrate on a particular subject and write quality contents related to your niche rather than focusing on more quantity. Google also loves quality content than quantity.
