No Sales Yet.What?
Nothing To Show For It, Well Practically Nothing
I have been doing everything that the courses have taught. I have been wearing my fingers to the bone with posts, editing, social media posts and accounts, tweakinig writing, blogs...You name it, I've been doing it.
But, I'm not showing any earnings to speak of as of yet. I've been here at WA since February 2018, just starting my 4th month, so I'm still a newbie. I really need to be able to produce some income, like immediately. At least enough to cover my monthly fees.Yet it isn't coming in. What little income I have made is from Adsense. A whole $6,79. Whoohoo!
I'm not sure about what I need to do. I've gone through training on traffic, done what has been taught, yet it isn't coming. If I don't make 6 sales in the next 2 months Amazon is going to drop me from their associates program, and then all the work I've done on my main website will go to waste. I don't want that to happen.
Great Reviews
I've got good reviews from fellow WAer's that have checked my website out, and good comments from 'friends' on Facebook that have visited my page there. But no sales. Everyone keeps telling me about how good the Kindle's sound and they should try one out. They ask for my advice about which one I would recommend. Or, they already have one and love it. That's really great and I love hearing it. But, no sales. They tell me how great my posts are, how informative and great looking. But, no sales.
Everything that I have written and published has been indexed in Google almost immediately. Several posts have been number 2, 3 or 4 on the first page, and my website has ranked as high as #4 on the first page. That gave me great hope. But,......
What the %$#@!*& is going on?????
It's really frustrating to go through all this hard work and see nothing to show for it.
This is my 'main job' now. I work at it 3 - 7 hours a day every day of the week. So you see it is not for lack of attention or trying.
Supposed To Be An Investment
My husband gave me $1,000 dollars to 'invest'. He expects to see a profit rolling in. He asks me frequently, "How's the business going? Making any money yet?". I really want to be able to say, "Yes, I made my first sale today". You know what I mean? I keep telling him that it takes time, it's not going to happen overnight. But, he keeps asking at least once a week. I've used $400 dollars so far, for domains and membership fees. He expects to see a return on the 'investment'.
I chose Wealthy Affiliate after much searching and researching. I knew I wanted to do something online because that is where everything is headed now and especially in the future. Technology is bringing the world to our fingertips. Litterally. Wealthy Affiliate had everything I wanted. A proven track record, step by step instruction, lots of help and support. It all sounded great since I didn't have a clue how to go about starting and running an online business.
Wealthy Affiliate Is The Best
I knew I didn't want to do direct sales, so an affiliate program sounded like the best idea. And it still does. WA still sounds like the best decision I could make. I am definitely NOT unhappy with my decision! I believe in WA. I believe in the education. I know a lot more about internet marketing now that's for sure, and I want to keep learning. I fully intend to be here for the long haul. But, unfortunately, I need to support my decision financially, too.
I am not whining. I just need to understand why I'm not seeing more traffic and ultimately some sales.
Help!!!
So what am I doing wrong?
Can you help me figure it out?
I need to rectify the problem ASAP. U have been developing two more websites during this time also. I don't want to have the save issues with them. So I really need to figure this out.
All input will be greatly appreciated. I value your knowlege and pnline marketing savvy. Please leave comments below. I really need the input.
Thank you very much!

Hi Candice - I know 3 to 7 hours per day can seem like a lot, but I'll admit when I first started out I was working more like 14 hours per day... As do many other start-up business owners. Gaining the initial momentum is the most difficult part, then once that is achieved it's from there that you can begin relaxing back to a more manageable 2-6 hours per day of work with days off.
Honestly the secret is simply "do more of what you are doing".
Maybe it will seem like you're never away from the PC, but if you want money "fast", then you have to be prepared to put in a LOT of work for that to happen. Sacrifices have to be made.
Just try to focus on the long term... That's the most important part. I mean sure, working 10-14 hours per day may suck (and likely will), but heck - if you could do that for 2x months and then work 2-6 hours per day & maintain a good income thereafter would it have been worth it? Heck yes! That's the key.
Thank you, Dale. You always have words of wisdom for me. I really appreciate it. I take them to heart. You are the reason I am here to begin with.
I will do as you say. I am not a quitter! I have two other websites ready to go. One is only lacking pictures that I have to get taken and uploaded for a catalog. The other is ready to publish now, with just a couple more tweaks.
It's always good to hear from you, Dale. Blessings,
Candice
Hi Candice just wondering if you buy any traffic or just relying on organic traffic?.. also be an idea to do a google analytics on your site? Check to see how many people see your site over the week, month. Have you done your SEO on your your site? You can buy traffic if you want a quick result but as Wenda said it will take time if you are only relying on organic traffic. I know how you feel about the waiting thing... but you are doing the correct thing all natural process has an incubation period, so do not give up just yet
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I am not giving up no matter what. I am not in a position to buy traffic so I have to rely on organic. Thanks for the advice.

Candice, I have read your post here, as well as the comments in reply to it. My thought to this is "WOW!" This community really reaches out to one another! :) This is proof to what I have written in one of my posts, which states, "Access to THE BEST online worldwide collective intelligence of entrepreneurs and affiliate marketers. All of this knowledge would equal millions of years worth at your fingertips!" This is POWERFUL! Keep on with it Candice, and at some point, things will start happening :)
Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. Believe me, I take all the advice and pointers and ideas straight to heart. I firmly believe in this community.
Candice
HI Candice,I am past month 6 and pretty much doing what you are and the same.Nothing,no money except one click registered in google search console, even then i am pretty sure that was me checking on one of my posts lol......I dont know what to tell you...all i can think of at this stage for ME is to just keep on with the training modules one step at a time and write one truthful, helpful, engaging post at a time......hope this helps :))
Hi Candince!
i know im just a newbie! and a big one.. but one thing i noticed while reading your lattes post on your site is that i couldn't find a link to amazon in it.. make a link inserted into your post.. or as a picture and i am sure at least 10% would click on it and it will drive them to amazon which will eventually lead to sales!
i agree with Lauras post as well, add pictures and make your post a shiny object! :)
i hope my this is going to be my first contribution for someone at this great place!
Stick to it and im sure in time you are going to be great!
GOOD LUCK!! :)
Alex
Thanks for the words of encouragement, Alex. I will never quit. I just don't want to have the same issues with my next site. I want to learn what to do that I'm not doing now. It'll happen, I'm sure of it.
Keep going, my friend. It's a great journey that you are on. I wish you the best of success.
Blessings
Candice
Hi Candice,
I can understand your frustration. It can be tough and that's why I don't recommend my readers to quit their job when pursuing an online venture.
You see, I treat my online business as a side gig. It doesn't require my full-time input. Maybe it's a good idea to find an income source outside of your online business for now.
I also looked at your website and correct me if I'm wrong. It's missing a few important elements:
- You need an about page that is easy to find. Typically, people place it under their header as part of their menu. It's the second most frequently visited page on a website, so it's important to make it easy to find. (Consider adding a photo of yourself).
- I would disable AdSense for now. Since you are currently building traffic. It's counterproductive to send them away for a few dollars.
- Your website is missing a privacy/cookie policy as well as the affiliate disclaimer. You can find the template in SiteContent here on Wealthy Affiliate.
- Consider adding a featured image for each blog post. This makes your blog roll look more appealing.
- When adding images, make sure you include an ALT tag. It describes what the image is about, so Google or other search engines can index it.
Other than that, keep pushing! I've been working on my blog for about 8 months. It's finally making enough money plus more to cover all of my expenses such as Wealthy Affiliate membership, Aweber, premium plugins, premium themes, etc.
I wish you great success! Don't give up(:
Cheers,
Eric
Thank you for all the great advice, Eric.
I have a problem with my home page and can't find a way to change it. I know it is difficult to follow, doesn't have images, and doesn't really have a menu. I've tried to fix it several times. I tried to change the theme a few times (and it actually says I'm using the new theme, but nothing changed. Frustrating!). I have tried every choice under 'appearance', but can't find where to access it. It is not in my site content location at all. Any suggestions??
Thanks for the words of encouragement and suggestions. I will never quit. I just don't want to have the same issues with my next site (of which I already have two more ready to launch soon). I want to learn what to do that I'm not doing now. I am going to follow your advice (at least what I can do). It all sounds good.
It'll happen, I'm sure of it.
Blessings
Candice
Hi Candice,
I’m out of town at the moment, but what kind of theme are you using? I’m going to create a dummy website and test it out myself.
Cheers,
Eric
Hi, Eric. Thanks for doing this. The theme it shows online and in site content is Hiero, but the one it says in 'appearance' is Fashionaire, which is the one I was trying to get to change to. It's really confusing :(
Candice
Hi Candice,
Interesting! Let me finish up my blog post and I’ll check it out (:
Cheers,
Eric
Is Fashionaire a theme you purchased outside of WA? I couldn't find it in the themes database.
No it isn't. It was in the themes collection on WA. Part of my premier package, not the starters. Funny, I haven't checked to see if it was discontinued. I hadn't thought of that.
Hi Candice,
I am sorry to hear you're in a funk. It is difficult to put in all that time and not see few results. The thing is, though, it can take a while to earn profits in this business. It is common to work at it every day for six months to a year before the sales start coming. You are right to believe in yourself and in WA, but you may have to adjust your and your husband's expectations on timing for profits. Sales almost always start as a trickle, and the fact that you have a little AdSense revenue is something to celebrate. You must celebrate those small wins to keep from getting discouraged.
That said, I took a look at your website and have a few suggestions:
1. For people to buy from you, the trust factor needs to be high. Consider adding an "About" or an "About Me" page so that your website visitors know who is behind these posts.
2. How about adding some large images. One of the posts I clicked on were mostly ads and a small photo. See if you can reverse this: large photos and fewer ads. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but it comes down to the trust factor again. Large images will encourage people to engage with your website. There is a post where you have a number of images of the different types of kindles. Try interspersing them with the text so that the images aren't all bunched together. That will help break up the text blocks.
3. Consider expanding into other topics beyond the kindle. Maybe recommend some books you like to read on your kindle based on what you enjoy reading and what would be beneficial from a keyword research standpoint. Jay had a great lesson on that tonight that you can access in live training which breaks it down step by step. The trick is to drive people to Amazon. Once they're there, they'll start buying stuff and you'll get a commission on the purchases, even if they don't buy the product you're recommending.
Good luck, Candice. Keep learning here and doing the training. Take a look at professional websites that are well done and try to emulate them. I hope you can stick with it.
I appreciate the suggestions. I will follow your advice. I just don't want to have the same issues with my next site. I want to learn what to do that I'm not doing now.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will never quit. I firmly believe in WA. It'll happen, I'm sure of it.
Blessings
Candice
Yes, I love your commitment and enthusiasm! The best advice I can give is to follow the training here carefully and to ask lots of questions. Asking for feedback and implementing it are the best things you can do. So you're doing all the right things.
Sometimes you'll get conflicting advice, and when that happens, you should go with your gut feeling.
I've been at WA on and off for a couple of years and I am still learning new things every day.
Wishing great things for you!
--Laura
Thank you, Laura. I appreciate your comments. I wish you the best of success here :)
Candice
Even if you’re doing everything right you’re not going to get rich overnight and I mean less than a year. Building a successful business takes time unless you already have a top selling product with many followers that want your product.
Something you might want to focus on to get more exposure is building up your social media networks.
Look into money earning potential within WA like producing quality training.
Patients and consistency are key! Try to enjoy the process don’t rush it. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
If you need money fast you might want to think about other ways to make money until your site is producing what you need.
All the best,
Marcus

I have been in this for a little over 6 months and I haven't had any sales yet either but that doesn't mean I won't. I know this program works but it isn't a get rich quick scheme. I have spent money on those already or should I say I lost money on those. This is a great solid program. It does work!! I know it does or else I would have bailed out long ago. I know you probably have heard this over and over but if you just work the program step by step you will see results. That's what I keep telling myself too when I get discouraged.
Tried and True

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I am not giving up no matter what. I am not in a position to buy traffic so I have to rely on organic. Thanks for the advice.
