I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle ! It was so great to see your message and great timing. I am there and ready to create my niche. I am struggling with it.

Two things I am very passionate about from personal experience is French and Lyme Disease. I'm not sure how to make these ideas specific and not general. Here are some thoughts

French

1) French for travel?
2) French course with focus on speaking
3) French course to pass the Clep Exam and get college credit

I'm kinda stuck on the French as I don't have a curriculum written. The only one I am familiar with is Rosetta Stone

Lyme Disease(personal experience-doing great)

1) Gluten-Free Food?(necessary to get well)
2) Supplements

I'm not sure how to spin these ideas so they are specific.
I would love your input

I had a chance to do a little more digging and discovered Jaaxy.
I really love the idea of making this work with my passion for French. Here are the stats I found for French-Classes

AVG-4555
T-775
QSR-247
KQI-Normal
SEO-67

As a newbie, this looks good but wondering about the competition. Is it too high for the amount of traffic per month?
When I try to narrow it, I get a very low# for the Avg traffic

This is completely fine, an as I mentioned in the other areas that you asked, you don't have to worry about keyword data when you choose your niche.

Never worry about competition within the niche, any given niche is so vast that there is so much opportunity and so many keywords/audiences that are "untapped".

The only competition you should worry about is you and by being a member here and what you learn here at WA, you are going to have a competitive advantage over any of your competition.

When I enter a niche, competition does not even cross my mind because ANY niche can be highly lucrative and there is so much opportunity within any niche.

You will be just fine, don't worry about competition Danielle.

Welcome to WA and congratulations on upgrading to Premium. It sounds as if you already have a very viable niche in mind for your blog.

I was not a diligent student of French at school, which of course I regret now. I am keen on French literature though. Last year I bought a French reader and am slowly working my way through it, so I'd be interested in learning from your blog once it's up and running.

All the best to you as you progress through the training and build your project.

Hi David,
Thanks for the thoughts on my blog. I'm very passionate about French so I figured it could be a good "niche" .I have to admit I have no idea where I am heading with this but it's all very
exciting.

Good for you for working your way through a French Reader.
I look forward to some feedback on my blog.

I think offering French study tips, teaching materials and perhaps even offering online classes and courses would be a good way to go!

However, to narrow your niche, ask yourself what kind of French language student would you be serving. English speakers who need French for business, for example... Even that may be too broad a niche, but that is the way to start narrowing and defining your business.

Hope that helps!

When your blog is up and has some content on it, feel free to send me a private message with the URL and I'll check it out.

All the best,

David Hurley

No worries about not being a diligent French student. I hear that from so many people. If only they made things more interesting in Public Schools with languages, people would walk away with a different feeling but here you are with a French Reader-that's great.

I'd love your feedback on a potential niche. Here are the stats

AVG-4555
T-775
QSR-247
KQI-Normal
SEO-67

I am wondering if the QSR is too low for the amount of traffic per month

Also I had started a blog a while back on Wordpress-"thefrenchgirlnextdoor" and have a domain name under that.

(french-classes.net is also available) Should I change it?

Checked out your blog and you seem to be really tech savvy so would appreciate your input.

BTW-Le Petit Prince is a wonderful meaningful book and has a lot of depth even with it's very simplistic vocabulary. My all time favorite

Sorry about the delay in responding to your question. It looks like Kyle has answered the traffic question.

I like the name for your blog, "TheFrenchGirlNextDoor" - it sounds more intriguing and exciting, more personal, than "french-classes". You can create something unique by creating posts as if they are from that character.

Hope that helps.

All the best,

David Hurley

I'm kinda partial to that as well- I like the idea of creating post as if they are from that character. Someone mentioned it had the connotation of being a porn web site(Chuckle) I had to take that in consideration but I'm going to go with my gut I think and stick to that. Appreciate your feedback
