Is There A Probation Period From Google Before Your Website Start Ranking well?

There's a belief from professionals SEO that Google has what they call a Sandbox, Google Sandbox if you prefer.

Let's see what does it mean first.
Google Sandbox is a probation period from Google before giving the green light for your newly built website.

What Are The Effects?

The main symptom is your new website (yes it applies only to new websites) have to prove itself before getting a good ranking from Google.

How Long Will It Take To Be Accept?

It can take one month for some lucky persons, most of the time it will last at least 6 months to one year and sometime years.

It's Unfair!

I won't say it's unfair, after all our website is new and every day there are probably hundred thousands of new websites who sent their Site Map to Google for examination.

It's normal to give the priority to the ones who were there before us and it's a good way for Google to see if we're serious about what we're doing. If we can keep our website alive for at least 12 months, it means we're commit to make our website successful.

How Can You Avoid Being Infected?

Unfortunately, there's not a 100% sure antidote, the only things you can do are:

  • Follow WA training, what they teach here totally make sense
  • Write good contents continuously
  • Be patient
  • Be persistent
  • Start learning SEO after your website is alive, it will take you years to master it, better start as early as you can

So is there a Google Sandbox or it's just a myth?
Personally, I don't know, however, I won't be surprised of it existence, it makes sense.
Like everything there's only 2 ways to be a VIP, one you pay, in this case you do PPC campaigns. If you want the free way, you have to prove yourself with hard works and being patient.

God gives us the chance to be here, however he or she (who knows) never said it will be easy. The rest is up to us.

Thanks for sharing this info

My pleasure.

Building your site authority is key by producing consistent quality content.

Yes, you're right and it takes time and dedication to slowly get authority.

No pain, No gain.

Calvin

Every endeavor that promises phenomenal results, requires tremendous effort that is really no effort at all if you derive joy from it. This is the case for most people here at WA.

Thanks for the reminder, Calvin.

Awesomeness!
Mojalefa.

Totally agree with you, life is an experience, it's what make it interesting.

I don't think I would call it a "Probationary" period in the "Google Sandbox". It just takes a few days for the Bots to see that there is a new kid on the block.

You could only have 4 or 5 pages and a couple of posts within those first few days or you could have a lot of posts, (if you are a prolific writer) when your site is recognized.

Bottom line I think is, that it just takes a few days to get noticed.

Getting recognized by the "Bots" is easy, getting ranked on the first page is going to take a lot of hard work.

What do you think??

P.S. Kyle always says that if you want to get ranked on the first page you have to become an authority that people will want to read and that happens when you are consistent in writing a lot of content with good keywords. That is where one gets all the traffic.

Yes, getting index is not so hard.

The hardest part is getting a good ranking.

I heard that Google now privileges a good content more than posting too many contents.

I guess they scan the number of words and the structure of the article we published, it's why writing a long artice is a good idea.

I also believe the bots also scan for images and images optimization, this is just my opinion thought.

Hard works and consistency, it's what lead to success.

The great thing about the training here at WA Calvin is that we have the tools to get sites ranked quickly.

Not a day goes by that don't read a post from a relatively new member here at WA that says their website has been indexed by Google and ranking as well.

So, you are right when you say that if we follow the teachings at WA the chances of not being in the sandbox are pretty good.

Yes, I also believe what they teach us here at WA is the right thing to do.

As Kyle used to say, this is not a making money quick scheme, if a person wants to make money quick, perhaps they can buy Bitcoins, Lol. But it's not guarantee they won't lose everything at the end.

I always believe hard works = success.

I don't believe in lottery, I'm not a lucky guy, Lol.

From my own experience the older and productive is your website, the more traffic you will get. Some people thing that Google has some real human people who evaluate the sites, but I can testify that is not really true. That's why Googlebot always follow every page of new content that you publish. From what I understand the robot analyze every aspect of each page including its data structure, which site link to you, where you link etc... The time factor will really determinate how things will be later on.

I also believe it's Google bots who anayze our websites.

Human write the codes for the robots, to tell them how to scan.

I agree with you, they must scan everything in details. With the rise of AI, these robots will be able to analyze in more details our websites and probably the algorithms will change again.

I don't believe peoples who say once you create your business, you can let it run without caring too much about it anymore. It's not true, like every business you need to keep yourself informed so you can adapt. Peoples who don't stay update, will see their business die one day.

Online business is something that keep changing because technology changes fast, very fast.

Good post. There are a lot of theories on whether or not there is a sandbox- and if there is, what the algorithm is that allows users to create ranking. I have seen some websites spike to a ranking in an immediate time period, while others just sit there in the abyss. Whether it is due to their content or overall setup is hard to say. I hope more see your post and chime in as it is a great discussion topic!

Thanks for taking the time to read it.

Yes, it's an interesting topic, I'm still a newbie on that subject to be honest. However, I like to learn and stay update, I will share more whenever I learn something new and interesting.

Ranking is probably the most important part of an online business, nowadays we still can do it at a reasonable price or even for free.

I believe websites who suddenly get high ranking pay for it or they're lucky to get the right keywords. But when you decide to go the paid way, you better understand what you're doing because it can suck up your money at a very fast pace. Some companies spend 100 000$+ every month just for that.

We get what we pay for, I guess. If we don't have the money, we still can learn the skills and with hard works and patience, we can get there too.

Okay maybe someone here can answer my question. I went to Amazon clicked on the referral link. Then Amazon ask me where to send the check? It seems I can start making money a lot quicker if I knew the answers. That goes for eBay also.

Thanks,
Rose

Hi Rose! The affiliate program you register with needs to know how to pay you. Most of the time this means entering your checking or savings account so they can send payments to you once you've earned money through their program.

I'm surprised they ask you for that so soon, are you sure is not a scam to get your bank account informations?

If you just get into it, they will ask you for a lot of details, if I were you I would contact their support, Amazon has an amazing and very fast support.

Check if you're really on the Real Amazon website, Amazon also pay you with a delay and only when you reach a certain amount, they don't pay you immediately.

Good Luck.

Calvin

Hello CalvinC,

Thanks for looking out for me. Amazon knows me as a customer and I have a very rare last name. They pulled up my home address in seconds. It was a short form. I just don't know how to add the link to my website.

Good Luck,
Rose

Perhaps you should contact their support, explain to them your intentions and they will guide you.

I'm a seller and a customer, but I've been an Amazon Associates, I'm waiting to finish my website first.

Good Luck.

Calvin
