For Those New And Using Amazon Associates
Hello,
I am posting this reminder to all of those who are fairly new, (like me as I have been with WA just 4 months now), who are using Amazon Associates as one of their affiliate programs.
Amazon Associates gives you 180 days to make 3 sales and if you do not make those 3 sales, they will not allow you to use them anymore. If your site is new or just a couple of months old like mine is, we need to remember that it may take a few months or more for you to get up in the search engines and get your first sale.
I am posting this because I just want the new people to be prepared for this and find alternatives through other companies like ShareaSale, Awin, Clickbank etc.
I have 90 days left to get 3 sales with Amazon but I am now in the process of making darn sure that if they drop me from lack of sales, I am ready to put in place of my SiteStripe links from Amazon, my other links from my other affiliate companies.
The last thing we want to happen is to get to our 180 days and not have 3 sales from Amazon and find ourselves lost for products to promote.
I am hoping that I will be OK as my site is doing well in the search engines and getting lots of clicks but I am already prepared just in case. I am hoping that you will follow my advise and be ready if you are using Amazon Associates.
Thank you and Good Luck To All Of You...I love WA and it truly has changed my life!!

You can reapply after being kicked for not making the sales in 180 days. And I do suggest before using Amazon links to have a good amount of traffic to your site.
I just reapplied after years of not using their links, and had zero issues getting approved.

Hi Mike
I want to mention that you can use a variety of paid ads to get your three purchases with Google.
I boosted a product review post on Facebook for my website when I first started. I got the three purchases in about 7 to 10 days and it cost me a total of about $40.
Once your Amazon store gets approved, you can add additional websites to that store without needing three purchases in six months (in the USA). 😎

Also note that if you do not get those initial 3 sales within 180 days they will cancel you account however you can join again with them with no issue but you will need to start again in getting those 3 sales for another 180 days they dont' count any you previously had. So if you go 1 or 2 sales and that's it they will cancel you account and if you join again which is not a problem you start again.
Should you join again they will give you a new affiliate link so you would need to change any old links you have with the new one.

Just to mention, I have reapplied to Amazon many times and have never been turned down. Amazon is an easy affiliate Program to keep if you want to.
That is good to know...I was just recently sent a notice that I had 90 days left or they would dump me and it stated I could not return. I am glad to hear this.
Thank you!
they may have changed their rules - so make sure of them...
it possibly said you cannot that you cannot carry on using the original links and that account will be shut - but you can - or at least could reapply for another account....

I missed my three sales the first time through. Then I tried again later and I made the three sales and now it appears I am an affiliate with Amazon for life because when I let my sites go and then I came back, even with no sales, I am still an affiliate. Hoping to turn the no sales thing around quickly within the next month or so.
Unless Amazon changed things, I think you can try again.
