Disillusionment
I am writing this post to vent my current feelings of disappointment and frustration. I have such a clear and vivid image of what I envisage my site to be, but nothing is working as planned and everything is taking ten times longer than I anticipated. I am someone who cannot move onto another thing if one fault or setback is still there, hence why progress on my site has been slow this week. It is because of Wordpress. I find it so difficult to use and find hep for. For instance, I want all of my posts to show up on my homepage but then for each post to be allocated onto a separate page on my menu, not show up on all. Like the foundation ones should go on the foundation page etc. how would I do this?? I also don't know why my posts are only showing up on my slideshow rather than as boxes underneath. If you check out my website, byxselina.com, you will understand what I mean. Yesterday I wrote a post that was the one I was most looking forward to writing but it was half hearted and not of the standard I wanted. I really want to make my website a success but wordpress and editing is holding me back. I really feel like giving up since it's wasting a lot of time trying to figure it out alone yet half of me wants to pursue this website too as I know it can be so great. Thank you if you read all this and I really would appreciate any help or words of wisdom

Never, ever, give up Selina. Winners never quit and quitters never win! What you're asking is too advanced for me, I really wish I could help you but I don't have enough experience.

Try and do more of the training on here before you build your whole business, understanding WordPress is a slow process
The boot camp training is really good even if your not promoting WA lots of WordPress tutorials there

Thank you... I feel Selina... I'm so stuck with themes and getting my pictures in the cute boxes that I just don't understand where they are.... even though the theme shows them in the demo!!!! BUT, I sense she started training a bit backwards like me... meanwhile, I decide to just try to have fun... and then I ran into Favicons, and Gallery Plug ins... so probably a workaround or who knows, but thanks for the link... I really needed a video explaining each little thing in Appearance and Plug Ins and Widgets and blah blah blah... :-)
Hi Selina! First off, let me tell you that I can relate to what you say about your blog posts not being the standard you want. I can spend hours on perfecting my blog posts, too. Second of all, if you're stuck, ask a question. You'll see how soon you'll have an answer to it. Don't think it seems "stupid" to ask a question, because it's not.
It's the only way you can make sure you keep on making progress. I can relate to what you say about "not being able to move on to something else if the fault or setback is still there". My solution was to simply ask.
By all means, don't give up, Selina. You'll regret it later, I'm sure of it. You seem to have a lot of passions and I'm sure you'll be able to write many blog posts on those passions. Cut yourself some slack and take breaks when you feel that you have a "block". Good luck!

I'm not an expert, but I think you can set up categories for your posts and then define where you want each category to be displayed. You can also post questions to the community or try live chat.
I agree that the learning curve can be brutal, but don't give up because it gets easier with time.
Thank you for replying to this. That is EXACTLY what I needed to do! If only I had known about categories one week before. Live chat is too difficult for me to keep up with the replies sometimes and it's so annoying when you miss a reply! I hope it does, I'm already noticing the ease of stress.
