So here we are again - VIDEO MARKETERS (or future ones...)

In my first post I told you about doing a video from a Powerpoint presentation.

I mentioned a few tools you can use and I'd like to start out to mention a few new ones, all free off course.

Video recording

We had talked about JING, which is a cool tool and from the same company as Camtasia. There are 2 other tools you can go and use for you video productions.

First is Camstudio. Yes, sounds like Camtasia and it's actually tha source of Camtasia but the Studio is the open source version freely available. To be honest with you, it's NOT a bad tool but you should Google a view tutorials how to customize it's settings to make the best possible recording.

Another one, a bit more advanced,. is Screencast-O-Matic. There is a advanced version and a free version available. I think that the free one is great and sufficient to get your feet wet.

BUT.....

With both tools, so as with JING, I'm having the same audio problems and I have to record the audio separately using Audacity OR I go and record the audio directly inside VideoPad over the narration feature. Works fine.

Just so to mention, PLEASE buy yourself a USB microphone for a few dollars as the audio quality is about 10x better then the phones with the plugs.

The biggest problems MOST videos have is their AUDIO. It's to low, or chopped or simply lousy. If you have a clear recording you will feel safer to record your videos and audios, believe me.

So now let'stalk about how actually make the video we are going to record.

This tool I will mention needs a bit time for you to master but WHEN you do it it's simpy one of the most amazing tool I ever used.

PREZI.com

This is like Powerpoint on steroids and you can make with a few simple steps unique and breathtaking things.

Please spend a few hours to go over some tutorials and to test out the tool yourself, OK.

You can make presentations zooming into the infinite. You can use images, videos inside the presentation, Powerpoint slides (yes, you can mix both together), text etc...and then you fly over the presentation as you wish and zoom in and out without any limits. You have to see it to understand what I mean.

So we use basically the same technique as with Powerpoint, but we use another tool to make the presentation, animation.

Happy producing guy's and girls

Hey G, I'm using Bandicam the free version right now for video capture. Just wrote a blog post about it. It took me about 45 minutes of research to get the laptop internal mic working, but I got it and it works great now. Sounds like you're on a strong track forward.

Hey TACTCI, never heard of that tool. I tried to post in here a tutorial video I did about another tool which is a bit similar to Screen-o-matic, called screenr. But somehow the WA site can't optimize my MP4 HD video. I guess I have to do it over Youtube.

Thanks, terrific stuff. Now to get to grips with it,
Regards
Hudson.

Hi Hudson, yep man, lot's of awesome tools around we can use. The only "problem" is that we need the time to get to know how to use them. But I can tell you that you can literally build a business around it.
If you become a Prezi pro for instance you can charge bit shot companies a good money for your presentation.
The money isn't always in Affiliate marketing bro.

Great info! I definitely need to start making some videos for my site and never thought about using Powerpoint slides or anything similar. I'll have to check this out! Thanks for sharing!

HI freedomseekr
Yes man, Powerpoint has a lot of POWER. If you ain't have experience with it, go to Youtube and grab yourself some tutorials so you can start to make some test presentations.
You can make a lot of cool animations in Powerpoint, text flying in and out, shacking, disappearing, adding music etc...some say that it's better then Prezi but that must be some folks which really master PP to it's max.
Prezi is based on those features so each presentation will look animated on default.
Start out my friend, video is the place where the traffic is and it get's only bigger with more bandwidth available.

Sorry, guess you'r a woman, I'm apologizing to all females, OK

Lol. No worries :) Guess it's hard to tell from my profile pic! Thanks again for the great info! I will definitely be looking up some of the tutorials on Youtube then..pretty rusty at using Powerpoint in the first place and have never heard of Prezi until now.
