Well, I try to take the attitude that I will comment and if there is a response that is welcomed. People are busy with their own stuff and often your content won't jibe with their perception or they just don't know how to respond in a good manner.
Take what you get with gratitude and don't feel slighted. However, respond in kind to the responses that you do get.
