Ive set up the mailbox like on the video, but it won't forward to my gmail. I know he says you cant do a mailbox and a forward, but how on earth do you do it then ?

<

To to SiteRubix > Site Manager > Site Email and delete the email address you've already set up. Then you'll be able to add the forwarder. You can't have both.

Sorry I didnt reply sooner guys. My sponsor helped me sort this. You were right Marion. Thanks for trying to help me nightwatch, but I felt the answer was something simple that I had missed. Been busy getting my head round Aweber, which I recently joined. Theres always something new isnt there ?

1. In the "Email" section of cPanel, click on the "Forwarders" app to open it.

2. Click the "Add Forwarder" button.

3. Enter the email address you want to forward (you must have already created the email address in the "Email Accounts" app)...but only enter the part of the email address up to the @. So if the email address you wanted to forward was support@bryanshipley.com, you'd put "support" (without the quotes) into the "Address to Forward" box.

4. Make sure the "Forward to Email Address" option is selected.

5. In the box for that option, type in the email address you want to forward to (e.g. bryanshipley@gmail.com).

6. Click the "Add Forwarder" button on the page.

That's it.

Hi nightwatch, thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure where these things are that you mention. Are you talking about doing this within Wordpress itself ?

No, you have to do this in cPanel. That's the front-end management tool provided by your webhost. You typically reach it by adding /cpanel to the end of your domain name; e.g. http://www.bryanshipley.com/cpanel

Do you have a domain name and is it registered through WA or through a domain registrar like GoDaddy? And where is your site hosted - with WA or with a webhosting company like Hostgator, etc?

I think we may be talking at cross purposes here. I have everything with WA. Kyle did a vid which explained it easily, apart from at the end, he says that you cant have an inbox and a forward, only one or the other. It just that bit i dont understand.

A forwarder redirects email to the forwarding address and doesn't store emails locally so it does not have its own Inbox. Think of the postal mail as an analogy. A letter gets sent to one address and then forwarded to a second address. The first address doesn't keep a copy of the letter (which would be akin to it having the letter in its Inbox) before sending it on to the second address.
