Lessons Learned From a Scale That Doesn't Lie
Earlier today, after I got off of the treadmill, I looked down at the scale to see where I was at. My hope is that the number always goes down, but today was not that day. In fact, it was slightly higher than what I hoped for. Sometimes I will even step off the scale only to step back on for a "second opinion". I tried that today and there was no change!
I then had to ask myself, did I do anything between today and yesterday that would deserve a change in the numbers. Did I run farther? Was I more active? Did I eat healthier? Did I eat less? Sadly my answer was no on all accounts! It gave me a moment to stop and think. Am I learning something here?
The answer was YES! I had to realize that my weight is not going to go down if I'm not going to do anything about it. I can't simply wish that my weight would come off, I have to do something about it.
In the same way, I see many people, including myself, who have dreams and goals of making money through Welathy Affiliate. Some, simply to get by from day to day and others to accumulate millions. Regardless of the goals, they all require doing something. Wishing you become a millionaire will not change the numbers.
This week I got stuck as I contemplated what I should write for my content in Lesson Two of my training. I could either get discouraged or I could do something. I chose to do something about it!
Although I have only been here a couple weeks I decided to create a list for those of you who are just starting out and wondering what you can do to get things moving!
- Pray, This is a powerful place to start!
- Start Following People- There are so many wonderful people on WA to learn from
- Follow People Back- When someone follows you, show appreciation by following back
- Hit the "Like" Button-This is a great way to encourage people and move up the ranks
- Create a Post -Write about your experiences, offer encouragement, share some training
- Follow the Training- Regardless of where you are at, keep learning more.
- Improve your Website- Keep working to make it the best it can be.
- Ask Questions- This is a great way to learn from really experienced people on WA
- Watch a Webinar by Jay from Magistudios - They are very informative and helpful!
- Comment on Blogs and Questions- It gets your name out there and will help you to learn
- Get on WA Daily!- Even if it's only for a few minutes, it will help!
**I realize that there are many more actions to add to this list, but it's a start.
The bottom line of all of this is that "the scale doesn't lie". If you do nothing, you can expect those results, and if you DO something you just might find the success you are hoping for.
So, what are the things that you DO to help bring you success. Feel free to add to my list.

It’s so great to hear from you Ingrid! Those words are really encouraging. With just starting out I get a little nervous writing anything. I don’t really feel like an authority on topics. However, I realized I can simply right about what “I’ve” done the past few weeks. When I look at it that way, I do have something to write about. Plus, I hope my comments can be an encouragement to others who are trying to figure this out. I am thankful for all my friends who have commented and affirmed that. Thanks again!
Have a great day Ingrid! I’ll see you around.
And yes...to our success!

Very wise thoughts. If you can manage to mange the scales as well let me know so I can follow you there also.
To loose and manitain weight loss it is essential to change life-style. Not just avoiding the donut shop or that wonderful candy bar there by the check out at the grocery store. It involves getting active and eating the right kinds of foods.
Best wishes on struggle with the scales
Barry
Thanks Barry! Yes, the struggle is real and you're right you can't simply avoid this or that it becomes a total lifestyle change. I hopefully have many years ahead so I figure it's time to get with it. Blessings to you on your healthy journey as well!

I like your list I am lacking in the hitting the like button I will improve in that thanks for your post.
Thanks for the comment Ruthlyn! I usually try to hit the like button when I remember. However, another member informed me today that when you hit the like button it will actually increase your ranking numbers because it shows you are engaging with others.
This is very true. I recently started myself. I breezed through the first lesson with little problems. The second lesson not so much. I felt stuck. I did nothing for a few days and became even more depressed. I finally woke up by praying like you and decided I'm accomplishing nothing by doing nothing. I woke up brushed myself off and back in the game. Still struggling but feeling much better as I'm learning, reviewing the tapes. I know I would make it. And thank you for the encouragement.
That’s awesome! Thank you Cherryl! Your words mean a lot to me. What I love so much about this site is that we can encourage and support one another. This is not a get rich quick scheme, but I believe that if you stick with it and work hard you will see the fruits of your labor. Way to not give up and keep at it. Hang in there, and let me know if I can help in any way.

Great analogy Bruce and so-o on the money. Learning this stuff and building a website or two with steadily growing traffic streams is not a trivial matter. It's 'hard work' as George W. used to say all the time.
But it's the only way to achieve the goals and dreams that brought us here. Here at WA success is a learn and "Do" process and it's the Do part that is so important. It's a continuous process.
So what are you doing to reduce the number on the scale?
Thanks Dennis for reading my post. I've always wondered if people ever go back and read them when they're a little older. I guess you did.
I agree with you that trying to keep up with everything is "hard" work. This is an every day, go after it kind of thing. Yet, it's what separates success from failure. If you're unwilling to do the work you can't expect to see the success.
As far as how I am lowering the scale...
In a business sense, you can read my latest post "10 lessons I've learned from an amazing first month at WA" It tells about what I've been doing to try and move forward and adjustments I've made.
In a physical sense, I am trying to run more with a goal of 15 miles per week. I am also trying to improve my diet by cutting out caffeine, and eating more veggies. It's a slow process but it's getting better. Thanks for asking.

👍🏻 ... I used to do that. Too boring ... Switched to tennis until my knees gave up. Used to play almost all weekend. Took up golf. Love the game.🏌🏾♂️
As long as you found something you like, that's the important thing. Have fun with the clubs!
