I bought an 80,000 E-mail subscribers list with a program. I was so happy to get it. I thought that it would be a boost for me. Not so fast! Read on!

We all would like to have a lot of E-mail subscribers. There are many E-mail lists sellers out there. Some make it sound so legit by telling you that their lists are worthy subscribers. But that is not all true.

I thought that buying an E-mail list would save me time and money. Luckily, I didn't proceed in using the E-mail lists that I bought. I did more research on this and this is what I found.

If you are planning or thinking to buy e-mail lists, you should be aware of the following.

1) You can get in trouble by your E-mail service provider

2) The E-mail lists you bought are probably worthless. Good e-mail lists are most likely not for sale by the email sellers.

3) Auto-Responders will not let you send bought E-mails to the e-mail recipient.

4)It is a violation of the rules of consent under the GDPR.

5) You can have your IP reputation and the delivery of your E-mail immobilized.

6) You'll look like a spammer.

7) You'll lose a lot more of your credibility.

The best way to get an E-mail list is by building it with your service. Based on your service, you can have an E-mail opt-in form for your visitors. Almost everyone would want free stuff. You can offer something free in return for their E-mails. You can ask your E-mail recipients to share your page with their friends so that you can get more e-mail addresses. It is best to add a sharing button with your e-mail to your subscribers" lists for convenience. There you have it. A trouble free way to build your E-mail list. I wish everyone a very successful life.

Cheers to a greater wealth,

John

Not only can't you use a bought email list on your autoresponder, you can't even use your own that you built else where and want to move it to a new domain list that you just created.

Most legit autoresponders will not allow it and may even ban you from their services.

You don't want to get flagged by the servers that you are a spammer. This will happen when you send out messages to people that did not sign up for it. Once the percent goes high enough non of your emails will no longer reach anyone.

Actually, I migrated my mailing list from Infusionsoft to Mailchimp without a hitch - it can be done!

I think you can use your own. It is yours. You've built it with your E-mail recipients. They know who you are. They know your brand and business. If you bought an E-mail list and start sending offers out to them, you will be a spammer. I appreciate your comment. Thanks friend.

Hi John,

It is not easy for anyone to admit a mistake. I really appreciate that you came here and told everyone about this.

In my books, this is called self confidence.

To return the favor, you might want to follow Gary Vee on social media platforms. The guy is a genius in Digital Marketing, and one of the controversial things he said is that he enjoys failure as long as it comes with a learning experience.

Best regards,

Marc.

And we all can learn from it. It is an innocent practice for anyone who is just starting out, thinking that they are getting something good. But that's not the case. I will look up Gary Vee. Thanks for the info. I appreciate your comment.

Yes the old adage if it looks to good to be true then it is probably worthless. There is no fast track apart from fast learning. Doing things right will build a quality list! I'm sure many of us have been sucked into this trap and not been aware of the risks. Thanks for the update,

I agree. When we do things right, we get to reap the positive sides of things regardless if it's a small or big gain. I appreciate your comment. Thanks.

Wowsikins! I don't know anything about bought email lists. As such, on the surface with no knowledge, like you John, I'd potentially have thought "great buy". But then also like you, I'd have thought "hold on a minute" and done research. Hopefully you're not out of pocket too much. At least you're not in trouble, something to be truly grateful for. Thanks for the heads up.

Like minded thinkers are common. LOL! My pocket is still intact and secure. It's the best I can do to help out our members here at W.A. If someone can learn from this, that would be their gain. I appreciate your comment. Thanks.

John,

I have been here for over 2 years and still working on building
my own email list. Do not try to move too fast it usually ends
up setting you back instead of forward.

Sorry that you ended up buying something that you cannot
use.

Thanks for warning the community,
Susan

That's a good way to put it. I think Kyle had also stated that you shouldn't try to move too fast in one of his training lessons. It takes time. I learned about the E-mail list, without using it. It's the best way to say it. I've had the list for a few months now and I thought about a doing good research on E-mail list buying. The answer was not what I had expected. This had compelled me to write about it here. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it.
