The five stages of learning
1- Unconscious Incompetent :
The person does not have the skills and is not aware of his lack of control.
At this stage it is therefore no lack of knowledge or experience to understand or implement a principle of action , a skill . The person does not know she does not have the ability to understand and do.
2 - Conscious Incompetent :
The person becomes aware of they lack of competence.
At this stage the person has sufficient knowledge and / or experience to realize that they are not able to understand or apply a rule or use a skill. Or the person believes that they are not able to understand or do.
3 - Conscious Competent:
The person engages in the conscious acquisition of the missing competence process.
The person has reached the threshold of sufficient knowledge to understand and communicate on a principle of action.
However, the experience is insufficient to be effective.
4 - Unconscious Competent:
The person reaches a stage where the control is completely installed and no longer
requires support. The person reaches a threshold sufficient experience to apply a principle of action, use of skill.
This person , however, didn't know enough to understand the skills and communicate about it.
The performance of experts is based on an unconscious competence.
5 - Control :
This level occurs when the person has reached a level of knowledge and sufficient experience , on the one hand to apply a principle of action or skill , and secondly to understand the principle of action and communicate about it.
I hope you find this helpful.
Thank you.
