Hi Everyone! 😀

Welcome to 2024! Could you create compelling content to increase your blog's readership over the next 12 months? People have short attention spans today. That means we must capture our audience's interest.

We need to be reminded that content is King (or Queen).

castle Imagine your blog is a majestic castle towering above the vast online realm. Our blog posts use powerful, persuasive words to draw readers into your court. You want to keep them coming for more content like moths to a flame.

This post explains how to increase readership to your blog posts with four powerful techniques. From storytelling to visuals, engagement and repurposing content's potential to acquire new readership.

Let's claim our rightful place in our castle and increase readership to our blog posts! 😀

1. Use of Storytelling to Increase Readership

Storytelling has been an integral part of human culture since ancient times. It captivates audiences, evokes emotions, and leaves a lasting impact.

I use storytelling at the beginning of my post to attract attention and get people to connect with me.

Why is Storytelling important?

  • Storytelling is Effective: Storytelling in blog posts can captivate readers and keep them engaged. A well-crafted story can evoke emotions and connect readers to the content.
  • Makes Content Relatable: Relatable stories in blog posts create a connection, increasing engagement.
  • Adds Personalization: Personalized, story-filled blogs build trust and readership.
  • Creates an Emotional Connection: Storytelling taps into human emotions, building an audience connection and improving content retention.

Help your readers by sharing personal experiences and crafting vivid descriptions. This powerful technique can increase readership and create meaningful connections with your audience.

2. Utilizing Visuals and Multimedia in Blog Posts

We know that people have shorter attention spans today. More than ever in 2024, capturing readers' interest and increasing readership is essential; incorporating visuals and multimedia into your blog posts is crucial.

multimedia

These elements make your content more visually appealing and enhance the overall reader experience.

  • Relevant Images or Infographics: Eye-catching visuals and charts can simplify complex concepts and engage readers.
  • Embedding Videos: Videos are famous for their immersive experience and dynamic element, be it a tutorial, interview, or product review.
  • Social media posts: Adding social media posts can diversify your blog and attract readers to your social channels.
  • Optimize Visual and Multimedia for SEO: Optimize visual content with descriptive alt text/captions for better SEO.

Visuals in blog posts improve their look, break up text, and engage readers.

3. Engaging with your Audience through Comments and Social Media

Engaging with your audience through comments and social media is crucial to increasing readership to your blog posts. It allows you to connect with your readers, build trust, and foster community.

  • Comments on Your Blog Posts: Engage with your readers by responding promptly to their blog comments. It encourages them to keep interacting with your content.
  • Social Media: Use social media for audience engagement. Share on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Encourage interaction.

Engaging with comments and social media interactions increases readership and helps you gain valuable insights into what topics and content resonate with your audience.

  • Collaborating with Other Bloggers: Partnering with other bloggers in your niche can attract new readers.
  • Sharing Snippets of Your Blog Post Content: Share your content on social media to attract more readers and encourage engagement by asking for feedback or posing open-ended questions.

Interacting with other people's content, such as liking, commenting, or sharing their posts, helps build relationships within the online community.

4. Repurpose Old Content for New Readership

Repurposing old content is one of the most effective techniques to increase readership and breathe new life into your blog posts. That allows you to reach a wider audience by presenting your existing content in different formats or platforms.

audiences

  • Think About Transforming Your Blog Post: Transform them into multimedia to make your content more visually appealing and engaging. This will attract readers who prefer visual information.
  • Infographic or Slide Decks: Add infographics or slide decks to make your content more visually appealing and engaging.
  • Create Video Tutorials: Personalized videos can boost engagement and reach a wider audience through social media sharing.
  • Updating Older Articles with Current Information: By providing updated versions of previously published material, you demonstrate that you're actively staying relevant and cultivating trustworthy expertise in your niche.

Simply just make sure to use your valuable blog posts wisely. Repurpose them by creating infographics, videos, podcasts, and updates to expand your readership.

Final Thoughts

Quality content is critical to success in increasing readership on your blog. To captivate your audience and keep them coming back, focus on compelling storytelling, eye-catching visuals, and engaging with your audience through comments and social media. Please make sure to repurpose old content wisely while maintaining your quality standards. These strategies will help you foster relationships with your readers and increase your blog's readership.

Hi Brenda

I've been trying to drive traffic to my site with Pinterest.

I have 22,000 monthly views but not much traffic, with around 25 website visitors in the past 7 days. It takes a while. 😎

Frank 🎸

I see the same for me, but I've only started around late November. I have grown tiny at this early stage with Pinterest, even though I completed the scheduled pins from the end of November through the end of December 2023. I figured it is due to the holidays. I got visitors from somewhere other than the USA but mainly from Europe, especially the UK. Yes, it does take a while. The numbers are still small. Im getting clicks -thats about it. I see that they like the designs of the pins, but they are not "hot" lead buyers. They look at the Pins but don't go to my website. That is what I am noticing. It seems like Pinterest is used for entertainment purposes. That is what I am seeing. I need more time to say how well this will work for my niche.

Hi Brenda

Yeah, I think a lot of people just look on Pinterest to scroll through the pins, especially kids.

However, there are people that type queries into the Pinterest search bar.

It’s a numbers game that requires constant pin scheduling to be successful.

Luckily, it’s easy to automate the process. 😎

Frank 🎸

Yes, I have them automated for a full month. Of course, "it's a numbers game." MLM industry is famous for saying that. PPC ads are the same way.

The only thing that leads to "hot buyer leads." is to advertise. By doing that it is not guaranteed.

Boosting a pin is an ad that we have to pay for it. Organic route of course its always going to be the slowest turtle to grow, slowly but surely!

Most of the visitors I have are not kids-children, they are over 18, maybe kids for us. 😀👍

Again just as you say it's a numbers game. With ads I feel like its a way to "gamble" money away in hopes to get a sale.

I did look at my demographics from Google Analytics and in Pin too most are Europeans -UK adults.

Instagram is the same way. Im slow with it too. I haven't done Facebook like you do. I am not sure if it will be worth it. Most people my age or older are on Facebook. They stay on that platform all day. The retirees are doing that. My 83 year old mother is one of them. She loves that place. I have a total hatred for FB. I am not sure why. But for business I might have to think about it.

You do have a point, Frank, young adults (kids) wouldn't have money these days. Pinterest is hounding me for purchasing their ads to boost a pin. Im not sure I want to spend money on that. I am ignoring it. I dont want to spend money on it. I will just continue to schedule it every month at 5 pins per day, we only allowed up to 100 pins to schedule.

To make it even its 3 pins per day will be 100 for 30 days. What I've done is wait a couple of days or so then add more pins for the next few days of the month. I have January already scheduled. I have to wait until at least half of the pins are already shown before I can add 50 more for February.

Good planning, Brenda! 👍😎

Frank 🎸

New Year Greetings, Brenda.

Planning a month ahead is awesome. You are an amazing writer and I know you are going to have a breakthrough year.

Rachele🥰

Absolutely!

😀

This is great information thanks for sharing Brenda. My plan for 2024 is to create more valuable and engaging content on a very consistent basis. These tips will really help in that direction. Have a great 2024.

That is a great plan. You too have a wonderful year.

Hi Brenda,
I am taking the training How to Share Content & Earn at Wealthy Affiliate Online Entrepreneur Certification Level 4 - Mastering Social Engagement. It tells me there is a way to share any blog posts on my social media. But I do not see the links he shows in the video from the class and I don't see any new way to share this post. I wanted to share this post on my social media. I also see that on many of the SM platforms I need to post an image and then I can put a URL and a description etc. I tried with another post to download one of the images from the post but it was too small for Pinterest.

Can you help me with this?

Thanks,
Linda Lander

Hi Linda,

You get the social media training located at classes.

I use Canva Pro for all of my social media posts.

Also, as a Premium Plus member, you can access AI Designer and AI Author, which are in beta testing for us.

The OEC will be gone on March 1, 2024. We are now to use the Business Hubs for our content.
