Happy Sunday to my WA family, or Monday if you are reading this on Monday. Today's entertainment blog message is about becoming a writer, which all of us that create our own website content become over time. Some think that being a writer has to mean that you write books, stories or articles for a living. The title “Writer” applies to many things. I know people who are resume writers, copy writers, bloggers, and content writers. There are also ad writers, song writers, script writers, and many more types of writers.
I have heard many newbie WA members when it comes to creating content for their website say, “I am not a writer.” Guess what? None of us were before we started writing but once you start and you keep doing it, you will begin to get better at it because you are a new writer. Every new writer has to start from zero and continue to perfect their craft. Like everything in life, the more you practice it the better you will become at doing it.
Back in 2008 comedian George Carlin (R.I.P.) was doing an interview at the Paley Center, formerly known as The Museum of Television & Radio. He was being asked, when did he realize that he was a writer? He said that unlike the majority of comedians, he always would write his own routines. The more and more he did it the better his routines became and the bigger the desire to create more content. It got to a point where he enjoyed writing so much and was good at it that he started writing books in addition to his comedy performances.
If you have ever seen one of George Carlin's stand-up comedy routines where he goes on these long rants, if you listen closely to the words they are well crafted comedic poetry with a message. For example, in the below 3 minute routine he is talking about all of the modern day terminologies and how it relates to him. There are so many amazing things he says like, “I interface with my database. My database is in cyberspace. So I'm interactive and I'm hyperactive and from time to time I'm radioactive.” Click the picture to watch and enjoy!
It’s one thing to be able to craft such a great piece of writing but to get up on stage in front of a huge audience and perform it without a mistake, just shows you what practice will do for the writer and performer. So the next time you sit down to write content for your website don’t be scared of what you create. Write it, put it out there for review, accept all negative criticism, make adjustments, and keep writing. Eventually you will be a better writer.

GOOGLE EASTER EGGS
I end today's entertainment blog post with a couple more Google Easter eggs. The first one will require you to click on the “I'm feeling lucky” link to the right of the search query in the drop down once you point to it.
Type in Google search - find chuck Norris
Then click I'm Feeling Lucky
Read the warning message Google gives you.
This next Easter egg is a shooting game which eventually you will lose. You will not need to click I'm feeling lucky for this one to start. Just type it in and click search. There will appear a bunch of ‘O’ that will begin to break apart your search results. They will attack from the top of the screen first and then from the right. You can destroy them by clicking on them 4-5 times really quickly.
Type in Google search – zerg rush
Then click search and start paying.
