Embedding Video for your Wordpress Site
I was recently playing around with trying to add a video to my wordpress site with the "add media" button. It didn't work the way I wanted it to, it only provided a link on the page which would download the video file I had uploaded.
Investigating further, I found that it's not recommended to upload video for your site. You should use a service such as Youtube, Vimeo, Facebook, Etc to house your video files. So, I saved my video files to a new YouTube account (with the privacy setting as unlisted) and installed a plug-in called Video Thumbnails. Now, I can paste the URL of the YouTube video in the post and a video thumbnail appears which can be played directly from there. How awesome is that?!
