Learning to Overcome Obstacles
Let me share with you how I am learning on Wealthy Affiliates. You see, although Kyle has the best teaching videos, I still need to set things up for my specific needs. Which is one reason I have yet to start writing on my website.
When I started WA I went "full steam ahead" with the first 10 videos following instruction with little problems until I got to Course 2 Lesson 3. That's when I started skipping steps mostly because I was excited to see what was ahead and only did some steps. My thought was, I could go back and review when I was ready to fill in those steps. I was wrong. The above said, I stopped watching the videos at Course 2 Lesson 8 and began the task of setting up for my success.
First, a planner that can be customized, sticky pads, colored pens, highlighters, desk and daily calendar. Next I took over one of the extra bedrooms and started converting it into my space. I need visual tools like big desk calendars and dry erase and cork wall boards.
Obstacles, we all have them, it's called life. My daughter Lynda has had 5 major surgeries over these past 12 months. My brother Angel passed suddenly April 29, my dad was admitted to hospital for his heart hours after we buried my brother... the list goes on. These events have cause me to travel extensively this year. I am currently in Puerto Rico caring for my parents and dealing with another death in my family. This is why I have focused my efforts on my WA blog, the WA community and spending time here in WA.
My point ? If I'm going to be successful I can't allow life's obstacles to get in the way. I make time, adapt and keep going in any way I can.
If you are reading this, I hope this is a good example. You are only handicapped or disabled if you allow yourself to be. Live with the hand you've been dealt.
Adapt and overcome. Don't know how? Ask for help. We are a community at WA, we all have many stories and experiences to help each other.
This is my humble contribution.
Love and light, B

B,
It sounds like you've been through alot lately. you have my prayers. I wish you the best!
I told you not to skip lessons and once you told me that you did, I didn't bother saying anything because I knew you would eventually realize that you made a big mistake.
There is a very good reason why Kyle has the lessons created in steps. Like everything important in life, you cannot cut corners and skip ahead because all things are tied together.
Scolding over. lol
I know you told me but I wouldn't have known what I was going to need until I took a sneak peek. ;)
Hi Bobbi,
You have really had a tough one this year and you have certainly handled it bravely. My thoughts and prayers go out to Angel and your parents and to you and may things rapidly improve for all of you. Just believe and keep up your courage.....Dick
You are right Bobbi it is easy to get excited and rush ahead, when I set out I decided that I would stick to those lessons no matter what especially as there is so much on WA in the way of information at times it felt overwhelming.. Sorry for your sad losses and I pray your daughter will have a good recovery and better health.. have a good weekend
Hi Bobbi, sounds like you've had more downs than ups recently, but with an attitude like you have you'll win through. Best wishes to your daughter, hope she's recovering from the surgery, and best wishes to you for much success in the future.
It has been a difficult year but when one has faith that God has the perfect plan it makes things easier. I just pray for strengthen when I get down. Ta
Thank you Harry
Hi Barbara
Boy you've had a lot to deal with over the last year or so, anybody would struggle to start something new with all that going on in the background so big up to you.
You're right about Kyle's training, it wasn't meant to have people skip steps......this is how new members sometimes get themselves in a fog of overwhealm so I'm glad you realised that and stopped.
The only way I would advocate somebody taking less time over a subject was if they were fully conversant in it but the trainings are built how they are for a reason, so the brand new person who doesn't know a thing about websites can work through from A-Z and get themselves online.
Well done and continue the good work.
Mark
Thank u Mark,
I felt it was important to share part of what I am struggling through because so many let things in life get in the path of their success.
I am also glad that I did stop until I am home again where I can use the visual tools I need. Until then I will become more familiar with WA.
:) B
So right to do that as well Bobbi because others will resonate with what you are saying and apply it to themselves.
Mark
You've been through a lot Bobbi yet you've managed to stay focussed on the end result you want to attain. That is a fantastic attitude and one which I'm sure will bring you the rewards.

Hello - so sorry to hear about all the difficulties you have had recently. I hope things are improving and that your parents are coping with their grief and your father's ill health.
Thank you so much.
