I've spent close to 20 years in sales, mostly in computer technology and online advertising. You would think that being around such things that I would have at least a concept of computers or how to generate advertising online. Like I said "you would think". I'm the type of sales person that can sell, even if I don't know what I'm selling. Every place I've worked especially in advertising where I was the top producer, I've begged the people there to teach me. Teach me how to build a website, teach me how to generate a lead, teach me about google seo. I've paid thousands of dollars to learn these things...I guess it's like taking 4 years of french in high school and the only thing you know is how to count in the language. Up until about 2 months ago I had no concept of things like content, themes, godaddy, seo etc. Sure I could tell you that strong content in your site that is relevant will lead to higher rankings....I could tell you that because I read it somewhere. It's the difference between knowing something in theory and actually knowing something. It's like knowing that to drive a car you must press the gas, vs actually knowing how to drive a car.

I've searched high and low for someone to mentor me in online advertising. I've always thought that being a top producing sales person coupled with this skill would be an excellent pairing. So in the past 2 months I've ran into so many things that I just couldn't get. Like how to shut off comments, or create a link, or how about the 7 days it took me to figure out that I needed a new theme to my site to do what I wanted to do. Not to mention the fact that at the bottom of this page it's asking me to add some tags...yes people, I have no clue what that means either. I can tell you that every single question has been answered by the community or kyle or carson.

My site is still a work in progress, however it's centered around the niche of sales training, eventually I would like to make it a platform where people can buy sales books, sales seminars, cds, e-books on sales...basically an all around sales store and community. My success so far has been that I actually am learning something new every day. I haven't tried selling anything yet as I'm not there yet. I also want to have a non-financial outlook at first so I can provide the user with what they are looking for.

My financial goals are this: starting in 3 months I would like to have most everything finished as far as the site itself. I would like to start making $15 a day at the 5 month mark. Every month after that I would like to increase it by $15 per day. So at the end of the 2 year mark that works out to about $2500 per week.

Obviously earning a good living in something other than sales would be great, but I'm here for the knowledge that no other site or person has been able to teach me until now. I here because I know that any question or issue I have is just a post or a private message away.
