A Social Media Plugin to Avoid.
As I move from website to website giving comments, or feedback, I take notice of what plugins that others are using. Since I needed a social media plugin, it is high on my list of things to find. When I saw one that looked nice (called Shareaholic), I decided to use it, but first I did a little research on it. I am glad I did. I then put this together for others to read, and to warn them.
As we progress in the lessons trying to build a website that we can be proud of, we sometimes hit a little bump in the road without realizing it. One of those bumps could be the social media plugin you have decided to use. Some are good, some are not. One of the ones that you should avoid is a social media plugin called, “Shareaholic”.
If you are using this plugin, I would suggest you remove it immediately. It will cost you in the long run. For more information about sharaholic, read these pieces of training.

Here is a good replacement for it.

Please pass this on to anyone whose website you notice is using Shareaholic. Thanks & Good Luck.

There are ways to manually create social links by getting images of the social media icons placed on your website with a link that goes to a social media blog address. You could have the visitor automatically go to the link when he clicks on the icon or you could have link text just to the right of an icon. There are several websites that give you free social media icons. If need be you can do manipulation with Paint to separate individual icons from sites that put a whole bunch together on a page.
Oh Yeah! Sharing valuable information is what this community is all about. Whenever possible, please pay-it-forward by passing it on. Thanks BradyHarness.

Thanks for the warning I'm not using it and now I won't
Cheers
That's my goal. To make as many WA'ers aware as possible, show an alternative, or for others to by-pass it all together. Cool!
