My Progress Thus Far

What's up Wealth Affiliate family? I chose this title image for this post because I truly feel through the training and community here at WA, doing something great is basically inevitable. We are all here because we want to create a better future. We are all here because we want to learn new skills. We are all here because we love the value of community. We are all here because we understand creating something great in this world comes from helping others.

If you stick around for the remainder of this post, hopefully you will be able to resonate with a few of the points mentioned. This is a jounrey for sure, and within the journey needs to be documentation.

My First Attempt

I signed up for WA back in 2019-2020. I forget when actually but I found my way to the platform because I was researching affiliate marketing training. I got into the starter membership and was nosing around. Quite frankly, I was skeptical. This is because I was burned by two MLM companies and a regular sales job over the years. So, of course my throught process was, "this is too good to be true."

I started some training modules and read some blog posts by the higher end ambassadors on this platform. I became intrigued and decided to go the $19 for the first month premium packagae. I did some more training, but at this point I was more or less procrastinating. I did all the video watching and blog reading I could, without implementing a single damn skill I was learning. I eventually cancelled my membership before the $49 dollar second month cycle hit and I was done.

Next Few Months

So there you have it. A procrastinator at his finest. Instead of implementing the skills I was learning, I sat and just consumed. Consuming is great but if there is no plan of action or attack to use the information you learned, what's the point? Over the next few months I was reading books and consuming more content. My mind was always spinning with different ideas to create something.

Finally, something resonated with me one day. I forget which book I was reading, but in it was a phrase along the lines of life is too short to not do what you want to do. Why do I continue to grind and go to a corporate job and struggle with getting motivated to do it daily? What is it that I want to do? What is it that you want to do? As yourself that question and I bet you can figure out a few things that would really get the mind and body flowing in such a positive direction.

The Realization Change Was Needed

So, after realizing that phrase above, I had a long talk with myself in the mirror. I know I want to be an entrepreneur and create businesses online. I want to have the freedom with my time to be able to travel with my wife. I want to play golf when I want. I do not want to be 70-75 years old finally retiring and then having no time to actually live.

So here we are back at WA platform with a different mindset. This mindset has allowed me to take a chance. This mindset has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone. It's strange really when you think of $49. Investing in yourself shouldn't be a tough decision. You either want the change or you will stay comfortable. I could think of probably one hundred other things in my life that $49 could be spent on in one day, night or week. None of those things include a membership to a platform where you learn skills and are able to network with like-minded people.

My Progress Since the Re-Up

Since re-joining this commmunity with a different mindset I have been able to apply the methods taught and have my very first website up and running with my first article published. I chose to enter into the golf niche as I am passionate about the sport and have been playing it since I was six years old. The site is niched down to help the weekend golfer and amateur improve their game from 150 yards and in. The site will focus on iron play, wedge play and putting tips and drills to help the average player have a more enjoyable experience on the course.

Through the Jaxxy tool, I have come up with 38 keyword-rich article titles that I am in the process of creating as we speak. My goal is to set up a content publishing schedule so I can sit down and create content daily for the website. I just finished my second level in the Online Entrepreneur Certification Program. Basically, I am in the position to now create and implement.

Final Goals and Wrap Up

With everything that has changed since re-joining the platform, I am absolutely grateful for stepping out of my comfort zone. There are many of you who have been so helpful in this journey. My goal moving forward is to create a sustainable online business that hosts a portfolio of websites in different niches. I eventually would like to become an ambassador here at Wealthy Affiliate and also develop trainings as I learn to help the community. My ultimate goal is creating the passive income to enable a lifestyle of time freedom. I look foward to networking with many of you as we continue on this journey together.

Sincerely,

Brian

Keep up the good work

Well done, Brian! I goofed off for the first year and a half! You will achieve your goals with your renewed mindset!

Jeff

As a serial procrastinator myself, I also still struggle with implementing things that I learn. It's so tough sometimes to get your mind to focus and do the things necessary day in day out.

But, reading blogs like this remind me of why I'm doing what I'm doing and what I'm trying to accomplish.

Welcome back to WA and congratulations on your progress thus far.
