Manipulating a Page to Get The Shot
This particular topic might be controversial but it really depends on how you look at it. What you will learn in this short post is something that is practiced in prototyping.
People who develop User Interfaces (UI's) use this strategy quite often because they have a deliverable to create an interface but sometimes do not have the data behind it. Here, you learn how to manipulate the page to take a screenshot that you could provide to your client, self or whomever.
So here are the steps...
1) Go to the website
2) Hover over area you want to manipulate
3) Right click and click Inspect Element (in Safari) or click Inspect (in Chrome)
4) Find the data you want to update
5) Change the data
6) Take a screenshot
... and that's it!
Other ways to go about this would be using Photoshop, Canva or some other image editing software, but in this case, we are able to manipulate the code in the page to get our desired result.
Please use this to your advantage in helping you move forward in your business but not to cause ill-will.

I don't know, but to me this almost feels "dishonest." Am I reading this wrong?

Well what is your intent? I can tell you what my intent is and it has to do with manifesting things into existence. If you have read the book I have recommended, you can't be someone you want to be if you are acting like you are someone else (imposter syndrome).
People will reach their goal but still act as if they haven't. For example someone who has won the lottery but still has a broke mindset.
In this example, my goal is to reach Rank 100. I manifest it by having a constant reminder (printed version of my goal) and also as if I have reached Rank 100 by continuing to contribute to the community and interact. The image I created after the manipulation is now on my vision board to help me stay on track with my goal and to continue acting as if.
This UI manipulation practice is used by most designers. A lot of people don't know about this and this can be a powerful tool for those who need it.
The changes aren't permanent. We don't own the data on the website but when it's on our own computer, it's free for us to manipulate it.
If you feel this is dishonest, don't do it, but there are others that do and typically not for malicious purposes but to deliver for their business.
