Using Gimp to create graphics

I found out about GIMP, a GNU Image Manipulation Program, to create colorful graphics to use on my blog and facebook.

It's free and it takes a while to use. I recommend creating graphics using layers for each addition to the graphic that you use so that it can be changed to make similar graphics without creating a new graphic or edit it because you don't like where place various parts of the graphic. .

I also get ideas by looking at images.google.com

My graphics are driving more customers to my site and page.

This is my most recent successful picture on my facebook page, Springsgardner Essential Oils.

Nice image and congratulations on getting GIMP working, I use it almost every day.

Great job. I have GiMP ( I even took the free GiMP course at Lynda.com) and I'm still not very good with this program. I've zero graphic design knowledge and it's so hard for me to do.

Maybe you could do a tutorial on how you create this kind of graphic for your fellow members here at WA *hint, hint*. LOL

I think you did a really nice job and I agree these would be a great way to advertise my site on my social networks. Maybe I'll have to wander over to GiMP and give it another whirl.

Thanks for sharing.

Patty :)

Thanks for sharing! GIMP is something I've been thinking about trying before, but haven't gotten around to trying it out. I'm going to have to get going on that! Very nice pic BTW! :)

It takes some time with messing around with the program to get the most out of the functionality. There are lots of videos and websites that explain how to use the more complicated aspects of the program. Use google to look up the tutorials about the tools or the effect you are looking for.

Yes Pilxr is very good i also run it on my phone

I'm an avid fan of gimp having come from adobe photoshop! This was a great little post to read ... Yah for GIMP =) Yah for Free Yah for Open Source =)

I agree. I also just found out about pixlr, that looks a lot like GIMP, but you don't have to download it.
